With this short, guided mantra practice, you can create a deep state of concentration and calm the mind, which invokes an internal state of bliss. The ‘a’ in ‘ham’ is pronounced like the ‘a’ in ‘about’. Internally say, ‘so’ when you breathe in, and ‘ham’ when you breathe out. ‘So’ represents higher power/universal intelligence; ‘Ham’ represents individual human self/small self/personality concept. When we say, ‘so’ham’ we are recognizing the divine within ourselves, which is why it translates to, “I am That.”
