Settling into whatever comfortable place you need today,
Whether that be sitting down in a chair or on the floor,
Maybe lying down,
Just allowing yourself to settle in here and closing the eyes if that's okay.
Sometimes life cannot feel so great.
We encounter different obstacles,
Challenges that make us question our faith,
That make us question God's goodness.
So today I want to encourage you with a couple of Psalms that remind us that God is good even when life is not.
As you settle into a state of calm,
Focus your mind on the words of the Psalms.
In the book of Psalms,
We find many verses that remind us of God's goodness,
Even in the midst of difficult times.
When life is not going as we planned,
It can be easy to forget the goodness of God.
But the Psalms offer us a source of comfort and hope.
Maybe you bring to mind a Psalm that speaks to you personally,
Perhaps one that you have found to be helpful in the past.
Imagine the words of the Psalm filling your mind and heart,
Reminding you of God's love and faithfulness.
For example,
Psalm 23 reminds us that even in the darkest valleys of life,
God is with us,
Guiding us and comforting us.
Psalm 46 tells us that God is our refuge and strength and ever-present help in times of trouble.
And Psalm 139 reminds us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by a God who knows us intimately.
And I just want to share a few specific verses from Psalm.
Psalm 107,
8,
And 9.
Psalm 69,
16 says,
Psalm 31,
Verses 19 and 20.
And lastly,
Psalm 34,
8.
As you meditate on the words of the Psalm,
Allow yourself to feel the truth and comfort that these words bring.
Even when life is not going as we plan,
We can cling to the goodness of God and the promises that he has made to us.
Take a few deep breaths and as you exhale,
Release any worries or fears that you may be holding on to.
Allow yourself to rest fully in the goodness of God,
Knowing that he is with you always,
Even in the midst of difficult times.
And when you are ready,
Take one final deep breath,
Breathing in through the nose and out of the mouth.
Gently opening the eyes,
Maybe feeling a bit refreshed and renewed in your faith.
And carry this truth and comfort with you throughout your day,
Reminding yourself that even when life is not going as we planned,
God is good and he is always with us.
