Good morning,
Friend.
As we gather and begin our day with the God,
I invite you to stay in whatever position is comfortable.
So maybe you're still in bed or maybe you find a comfortable upright position.
Just allow yourself to settle in.
Perhaps closing your eyes or softening your gaze to something out in front of you.
And today we're focusing on this idea of just putting on the full armor of God to equip us and prepare us for our day ahead.
I'll be reading from Ephesians chapter 6,
Verses 10 through 18.
A final word,
Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.
For we are not fighting against flesh and blood enemies,
But against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world,
Against mighty powers in this dark world,
And against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
Therefore,
Put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil.
Then after the battle,
You will still be standing firm.
Stand your ground,
Putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness.
For shoes,
Put on the piece that comes from the good news so that you will be fully prepared.
In addition to all of these,
Hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.
Put on salvation as your helmet and take the sword of the Spirit,
Which is the word of God.
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion.
Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
As you allow those words to settle on you today,
Maybe you begin to envision yourself putting on the spiritual armor of God,
Knowing that you're prepared for your day ahead,
That you're able to stand against whatever comes your way.
God,
We come to you today just from a place of gratitude.
The ability to see a new day is a blessing in itself.
The ability to carve out time to pause and to start our day with you is a blessing in itself.
We thank you for your presence right here in this moment.
We thank you for physically and spiritually preparing us for our day ahead.
We know that we are supported and that we are covered in your armor.
We know that we have your belt of truth and the full body armor of your righteousness.
We know that we have your peace within our shoes.
We have the shield of faith.
We have the helmet of salvation and we have the sword of the Spirit.
We're equipped with your word,
God.
We thank you for preparing the way for whatever is in store for us today.
No matter how scary,
No matter how hard or challenging,
We know that we're ready because we know that you're with us.
We're believing for great things today,
God.
We're believing for positive news and good energy and good feelings around us.
God,
We're believing for your protection,
That you will keep us safe from any harm that comes our way,
That you will extend out this shield or this layer of protection against our loved ones and those that are around us.
God,
We ask that you give us a clear mind that we can focus on our task or whatever is on our list to get done today.
We ask for clarity in any decisions that come up.
We ask for a sharp tongue for those times where we have to speak.
God,
We know that you're with us and we know that we are able to face anything that comes against us because you are with us.
In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen.
Just taking one more deep breath,
Breathing in and letting go.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
And I'm wishing you a beautiful and a great day ahead.
