In this Healing Body Scan/Guided Relaxation, you can relax and release all tension from your body and mind. Find a comfortable place where you can rest. Lie down either in nature or somewhere indoors where you feel safe. From there, focus on becoming grounded and releasing the weight of your body into the earth. I will guide your awareness through the different parts of your body from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet. In this place, you can rest deeply, exactly as you are. When the body is relaxed, it can return to a state of balance and wholeness that already exists within.

Find a comfortable place for this guided relaxation where we will relax the entire body and focus on the sensations that we feel in every part of the body.

You can pick a place outside in nature or you can place yourself indoors,

Wherever you choose to be.

Find a comfortable position where you can relax your body completely and lie down.

In this guided relaxation for healing,

We will relax every part of the body so that you can bring in healing to where it is needed.

Once you are lying down,

Take a few deep releasing breaths,

Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth,

Releasing on the out breath,

In through your nose and out through an open mouth,

Letting go.

Let your body become more relaxed as you breathe out.

Begin by simply noticing the parts of your back body that are connected to the earth.

Sense the back of your heels,

Your calves,

The back of your knees and thighs,

Your buttocks,

Your low back,

Your mid back and your upper back.

And sense the crown of your head sinking into the floor.

Let the weight of gravity relax you further with each breath out.

As you become more relaxed and grounded,

You can feel safe,

Secure and held by the earth.

From this place,

We can begin to relax,

Release all tension to activate the body's natural healing abilities,

Starting with the top of your head.

Take a full breath in.

Relax your head.

Soften your forehead,

The space between your eyebrows.

Let it widen.

With each breath,

Become more and more relaxed as you let your eyelids drop heavy,

Sinking down towards your cheekbones.

Soften your jaw.

Let your teeth separate from each other.

Let your tongue be heavy,

Relaxed at the bottom of your mouth.

Let your whole face,

Every muscle in your face be soft and at ease,

Perhaps even allowing the corners of the mouth to turn upwards in a gentle smile.

Continue downwards,

Relaxing all sides of your neck as you take a full breath in.

Relax your chest,

Your shoulders.

In all the weight you carry on your shoulders,

Dripping down through your arms and out through your fingertips.

With each breath,

Letting go of more tension,

Relaxing and releasing anything you can let go of to access more freedom in the body.

Take your attention back to your chest.

Take a full breath in as if you could breathe in through the center of your heart.

Fill your heart up with life force,

Healing breath,

And relax your back body.

Relax your abdomen,

Your solar plexus.

Let all the tension you carry in your belly soften.

No need to hold,

Tighten right now.

Simply let the soothing quality of your breath gently relax your abdomen,

Your belly muscles.

Taking some deep breaths,

Deep belly breaths,

Belly naturally rising with each breath in and falling with each breath out.

You are safe here.

You are held.

Continue your awareness down,

Down into the hips and the thighs,

Letting your thighs grow heavy as if they were sinking into the earth like two heavy sandbags.

Relax your knees,

The backs of your knees.

Breathe in,

Relax your lower legs,

Your calves,

Your shins.

Continue your awareness down,

Down into the heels,

The soles of the feet,

The toes.

Notice the space between the toes.

From the crown of your head to the soles of your feet,

Relax deeply and rest as you allow the body to return to wholeness.

Taking a few moments of silence where you can simply be just as you are,

Complete,

Whole,

And healed.

Begin to notice the energy in your body flowing more harmoniously through all the energy channels.

Notice a sense of ease and wellness in every cell of the body.

This is you,

The real you that can be accessed at any time.

Simply by placing the intention for relaxation and healing,

We become aware of that which already exists within,

That is already here.

I invite you to stay in this relaxed,

Gentle space for as long as you like.

And when you're ready,

You can begin to deepen your breath,

Taking a few deep,

Releasing breaths,

Wiggling toes and fingers,

Reawakening the body once more,

Taking the benefits of this practice into the rest of your day.
