Hey friend,
Go ahead and settle into a comfortable position,
Sitting up or lying down,
Whatever feels right.
We'll take just a few moments to clear the mind so you can start fresh for this day.
Take a nice deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Gently close your eyes.
Let's take two more just like that,
Breathing in slowly through the nose,
And then a long,
Slow exhale out of the mouth.
Last one,
Deepest breath yet,
Inhale all the way down into your belly,
And then exhale.
Just let it go,
Not forcing anything,
And allowing your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Whatever feels easy and effortless,
Allow your face to soften,
And your shoulders to relax,
Using stillness in the body to guide stillness in the mind.
And just notice what's coming up here this morning.
Maybe there are some thoughts already forming about things you need to do or remember,
And that's perfectly normal.
That's what minds are supposed to do.
But for just these few moments,
Let go of all of that,
Envisioning your mind as something perfectly still,
Like a clear blue lake.
And though the breeze or a falling leaf may disturb the surface,
The lake is perfectly still.
That stillness is always there.
It always has been,
And it always will be.
You are the stillness,
Not the ripples on the surface.
Now,
Take one final deep breath in,
And hold at the top.
Take another sip of air,
And then exhale,
Release.
Just let it all go,
And slowly begin to gather yourself,
Remembering that,
Although there may be disturbances on the surface,
There's always stillness beneath,
And that stillness can always be found within you.
Now,
With your mind just a bit more clear,
Go out and have a fantastic day.
