This gentle meditation is designed to help you sit with difficult emotions, cultivate greater resilience, and visualize a more peaceful, kinder world. It uses guided imagery and suggestions for greater feelings of ease, as well as acceptance of even challenging emotions, such as anger, worry, frustration, or fear, as your truth of the moment. The imagery encourages connecting to your most grounded, centered, resilient self, creating space for you to be both strong and a human being with normal, very human emotional states. Finally, the meditation invites you to send peace and healing to our world in whatever way feels right to you in the gift of the present. This is a meditation for sitting with difficult emotions,

Cultivating greater resilience,

Whatever that means for you,

And visualizing peace.

So you'll notice I'll use some guided meditation and hypnotic imagery.

I'm going to set my personal intention,

Which is pretty much what I just mentioned,

But I'm going to invite you to set a personal intention as well.

Whatever that is,

Is exactly right.

And so,

Again,

I'm just inviting you to relax,

Get comfortable,

And breathe.

This time is just for you to unplug from the day and unwind if you wish.

And you can allow my voice to guide you if you like,

But I invite you to allow your wisest self to shift the imagery as you see fit.

And if your mind drifts off,

That's completely fine.

Just focus on your breath and be.

And you might notice your eyes just relaxing or lightly closing,

Or just allowing your focus to rest easily someplace in the room.

It really doesn't matter.

Whatever you choose is exactly right.

And as we begin,

You'll notice that I'll start the imagery from a first person point of view,

And then I'll shift.

But just let your very wise self take it in,

In whatever way feels most right in the now.

And as we begin,

We can observe our emotions,

Whatever they may be,

Whether pleasant or difficult,

Easy to understand or not.

And again,

Just breathing and letting and noticing.

And as you do so,

You can say to yourself,

If I am feeling anger,

It is my truth of the moment.

If I am feeling worry,

It is my truth of the moment.

If I am feeling sadness or grief,

Frustration or fear,

I can notice these things as my truth of the moment.

I can simply notice what I notice,

Whatever that is.

Because I know my emotions are not me,

But what I am experiencing in the now.

Like clouds drifting across the sky,

Or leaves floating downstream.

There's nothing I need to do in this moment,

But simply be.

Because just as the sky doesn't try to force the clouds away,

And the stream has no need to focus on each leaf drifting upon its surface.

I know deep within that emotions,

However weighty,

However joyful,

Whatever they may be,

Are changing moment to moment.

And I can shift my awareness from these states to anything at all.

And shifting my awareness can change everything.

And it's perfectly fine,

And sometimes extremely healing,

To simply observe what I notice as leaves floating on the water or clouds drifting across the sky.

Bringing your awareness once again back to your breath and just being.

Or perhaps there is somewhere in your body that feels comfortable and easy.

Or it may very well be that there is a space that simply feels neutral.

Like the tip of your nose,

Or the lobe of an ear.

And if it feels good to rest your attention there,

You can do so.

Sitting in the ease of that very comfortable or neutral space within.

And it's always so interesting and kind of amazing how we can hold difficult emotions in one hand.

And sit with ease or neutrality,

Holding them in the other.

Moving our attention from one space to another.

And just noticing how that feels.

And in this moment now,

As you continue to breathe and be,

You can ask your higher self,

That very wisest part of you that is your lifelong companion and your most steadfast ally,

Ever present,

Even when it seems somewhat quiet.

You can invite that part of you now to shed light on what you would need in this moment to feel more resilient,

To feel balanced.

Whatever it is that you need in the now.

And it's entirely up to you,

Because there's no one right way to be.

What a wonderful thing that is to remember.

That you can sit with your emotions,

Or gently set them aside on a shelf.

In the sanctuary of your mind.

You can breathe through them,

Or you can hold them protectively.

Or perhaps you decide to release them to the wind.

Trusting the elements to transform them as needed.

What's even better still,

Is that you don't really need to do anything specific,

Other than trust your higher self to guide you.

And so the doing really is in the letting.

What a wonderful thing that is.

So again,

Simply breathe.

And it may very well be that your higher self shows you an image of you as your most resilient,

Strong,

And confident self.

Or perhaps you are feeling that state of ease,

And your higher self can show you what that can be and look like for you in this moment.

That very calm and clear knowing that you can manage anything you need to,

Because you already have all of the tools within you.

So just sit with this for a moment,

And create space to reconnect to your resilience.

Like a tree with a strong trunk and deep roots.

Branches reaching to the sky.

A beautiful balance between heaven and earth.

Connecting with divine wisdom.

The very strongest part of you.

And whether your most resilient self is sturdy like the oak tree,

Or flexible like the willow,

Or something else entirely,

Just observe what you observe.

And now having created space for yourself,

And remembering your resilience,

Which endures regardless of how you feel in the moment.

If you like,

And if it feels right to you in the now,

You can shift your focus outward to the world around you.

Or perhaps your perspective is greater still.

And you can imagine the peace that you tap into.

The calmness and quiet strength radiates from you.

A beautiful sphere of light.

And as you shift your perspective,

Perhaps to 100 feet above the earth,

Or wherever feels most right in the now,

You can imagine holding the earth gently.

Rising above the fray.

Surrounding her with light and blessings.

Healing intention.

And peace.

Envisioning positive energy flowing to you and from you.

To those you feel connection with,

And perhaps to those you don't.

It's really up to you.

But if you like,

You can imagine with each breath,

You blanket the earth with kindness.

Helping to raise the vibration.

Healing our world.

So simply breathe.

And be.

Now still sitting and calm and peace.

Strength and ease.

And you can begin bringing your awareness back to your body.

Your feet connected to the earth.

Grounded.

Once again becoming more grounded in your body.

Feeling refreshed and clear.

Centered in the gift of the present.

And with a few deep breaths.

Having returned fully to the now.

Present and clear.

You can notice and honor any urges to stretch and shift.

Feeling wonderful.

Having some water if you like.

Writing down any insights you may have had if you choose.

Just take whatever time you need.

Again stretch or shift if you need to get up and take a walk.

Or into the bathroom or whatever you need to do.

Please feel free.

I'm just going to be quiet.

So that if you'd like to write things down or just kind of reflect.

You're welcome to.
