Dear friends,
I invite you to sit back,
Close your eyes,
Take in a deep breath,
Relax and come into the now,
The wonderful now.
The now where everything happens.
The now where everything that has happened has happened.
The now where everything that will happen will happen.
This wonderful point in time where past and present intersect always.
The now.
Welcome to the now of morning light.
The now of evening sun.
Welcome to the now of star filled skies at night.
The now of friendship and companionship.
The now of love and devotion.
The now of service and dedication.
Bravery,
Heroism,
Sacrifice,
Hope,
Faith.
Our universe has been evolving over an unimaginably long period of time,
Seeming like eternity and extending over an unimaginable area of space,
Seeming like infinity.
Yet each and every event happening in what was then the now.
Each and every life lived in the wonderful,
Extraordinary,
Ever-present now.
So as we contemplate this now moment,
Shared with every living thing,
Can we learn to embrace it and every living thing?
To love and value it and every living thing as we ought?
Can we remind ourselves that a war with the now is always doomed to failure,
Just as a battle against what is,
Is always doomed to defeat?
Today can we finally say goodbye to yesterday,
Parceling it up,
Placing it in a box for occasional reference only so a future now might learn its lessons?
And can we wait until morning before saying hello to tomorrow,
Allowing ourselves a glimpse into tomorrow only in order to make reasonable preparation for the now to come?
A closing thought from Henry Nguyen.
Did I offer peace today?
Did I bring a smile to someone's face?
Did I say words of healing?
Did I let go of my anger and resentment?
Did I forgive?
Did I love?
These are the real questions.
I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits here in this world and in the life to come.
Namaste.
