The Calming Coin Meditation.

Find yourself a comfortable position.

This can be either sitting,

Standing or lying.

Take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.

As you exhale,

Feel yourself settle into your chosen position of comfort.

Take a moment to think about what drew you to this meditation.

Whilst you do this,

Take the forefinger and thumb of the left hand and squeeze together as if holding a coin between them.

While squeezing the forefinger and thumb together,

I want you to focus on your normal breathing pattern.

Breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth.

Keep a focus on your breath and a focus of the sensations in your forefinger and thumb.

This is your anchor point whenever you are feeling anxious.

As you squeeze and breathe,

Say to yourself,

I am calm,

I am settled,

My thoughts do not have substance.

I am calm,

I am settled,

My thoughts do not have substance.

If your mind does wander,

Bring your attention back to the breath and to the sensation between your forefinger and thumb.

Keep a focus on this sensation and simply say to yourself,

I am calm,

I am settled,

My thoughts do not have substance.

This technique can be used at any time of the day when you feel an anxiety attack approaching.

Simply use it to ground yourself in the present moment.

Take a long slow deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.

From me to you,

May your life be filled with positivity.

Hopefully this will be well received: it's a little different to my normal offerings. If it helps just one person to manage their anxiety, then my job here is done. Kind wishes and love, Namaste.
