Just for today,

Stop controlling.

Take your hands off the wheel and put your life in freewheel.

Just for today,

Take the high ground.

Be mindful of the ethics of all you do.

We impact less on you,

On others and the cosmos.

Just for today,

Watch your temper.

Observe what triggers it.

Notice its aftermath on you and on those you meet.

Just for today,

Notice what's on your mind.

Observe how it steers you.

And take pleasure in giving it some direction in both senses of that word.

Just for today,

Observe your temporal tug of war.

Notice how you are pulled back into safe patterns.

Let the perfect future pull you in the opposite direction.

Just for today,

Jump out of yourself.

Imagine looking down on you and your predicament.

What advice would you give to yourself yesterday,

Knowing what you know today?

Just for today,

Avoid postponement.

Try a little preponement instead.

Do something today to make life easier tomorrow.

Just for today,

Vanish all comparison.

What if your life today was actually perfect?

Look at your achievements so far.

Pretty good,

Eh?

Just for today,

Take the weight off your shoulders.

Stand up straight and tall.

Let the world take heed and notice that you are on a mission.

Just for today,

Be actively apolitical.

Sit on the fence and see the perspective of both sides.

And let them both know about the third way.

Just for today,

Be without sin.

In Aramaic,

The word sin means to miss the mark.

Make a fresh aim.

Just for today,

See the point of pain.

It's not designed to make you miserable,

But to make you aware some adjustments are needed.

Just for today,

Awaken from the waking dream.

Muse on how your awakened self would look at you when you're dreaming.

Now muse on who or what is looking at you right now.

Just for today,

Seek out the unknowable.

Ask yourself questions for which you've always wanted answers.

Meditate for as long as possible and allow the answers in.

Just for today,

Ask not when but how.

How can you help the when come sooner?

Just for today,

Tick all boxes.

List all your options as if they were on a webpage.

Take them all and just observe.

Just for today,

Be selective.

Choose between yesterday's options sagely.

Be even wiser about the thoughts to which you give safe harbour.

Just for today,

Go stratospheric.

Do something wilder than your wildest dreams.

Go higher than you've ever gone before.

Just for today,

Blossom.

Let the sunlight energise your being.

Draw nutrients from the earth and fuel from the air.

Just for today,

Wipe the slate clean.

Don't reboot but do a full reset.

Upgrade your being to the next level.

Just for today,

Be mindful and timeful.

Notice how what's going on in your mind governs the speed of time.

Lighten up and observe the slowing down.

And just for today,

Be timeful and kindful.

Notice what happens when you have more time on your hands.

You have more time to be kind to yourself and to others.

I loved that you quoted the Aramaic for β€œsin” -as missing the mark.

Just for today we’d love to thank our new friend for your gifts of contemplation, kindness, and creativity. πŸ™πŸΌβœ¨πŸ’ž It was particularly striking when you mentioned β€œsin” being translated as β€œmissed the mark”, and the incredible shift that creates with this very heavy and weighted term. It creates a lightness, like β€œoops, try again”…take another shot. 😊 Many gems in here, thank you Tom! πŸ’—
