In this meditation,
See if you can set the intention to explore your creativity and to connect with your creative parts.
As we begin,
Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down.
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in and a long breath out.
Allow yourself to settle fully into this moment.
Today,
We open space to connect with our creative parts.
Those parts that bring playfulness,
Vision,
And joy.
There is no right or wrong way to experience this meditation.
Simply notice with curiosity and care.
Take another deep breath in and out.
Imagine yourself as a child as you focus on your inner world.
Often our younger parts bring memories to us.
So just welcome in whoever's there.
The memories being fully immersed in something playful and creative.
Maybe it was drawing,
Singing,
Building,
Pretending.
Notice the feelings and images that arise without judgment.
What did it feel like to create simply for the joy of it?
Know,
Too,
That I encourage you to pause this recording as often as you need to give your system time.
Now,
Turn your attention inward and gently invite your creative part or maybe it's parts to come forward.
What does this part look like?
How old do they feel?
Is there a sense of energy or emotion they carry?
Greet this part with kindness.
And ask,
What do you want me to know?
Just pause and listen.
Then ask,
What do you need from me today?
And hold the answers with compassion.
If any protectors arise,
Parts that feel skeptical,
Critical,
Or cautious,
Simply notice them.
Thank them for their care and attention.
Let them know this space is just for listening.
You're creating room for connection and understanding.
They belong here,
Too.
Their concerns,
Maybe they have fears,
Are valid.
See if they could give just a little space to let you spend a little more time with these creative parts.
And let those parts that may be critical or have questions know that they can have some time in the future,
Too,
And let them know when you can connect with them.
And if they're able to give some space,
Thank them.
Turn your attention back to the creative part.
And from a place of kindness and care,
Imagine offering your creative part a small gift.
Be aware,
Too,
That our parts may be giving us gifts.
It can work both ways because they make us whole,
Beloved,
Who we are at our core.
So maybe it's you giving them permission to doodle.
Maybe they're giving this gift to you,
Permission to sing.
Permission to be messy and free and imperfect.
Take a bit to be with your parts,
Engaging in a playful act of creation.
Notice how your body and your heart respond.
See if there's anything else before we come back.
And when it feels complete,
Take a few more gentle breaths.
Thank your creative part or parts for joining you today.
Thank those parts that may be a little skeptical for giving some space.
That takes a lot of courage,
Too.
Remind them all that you can continue having this conversation.
You'd like that if they would.
Maybe let them know when you can pick this up again.
And when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes if they were closed,
Carrying a spirit of playfulness and curiosity.
Into your day.
And after the meditation,
If you want to journal a bit,
Here are a couple questions you could ask.
What did your creative part want you to know?
What small act of creativity could you offer them this week?
Thanks so much for joining me here.
Take care.
