I'm going to lead you in a meditation to get to know your inner world a little more.
And so as we begin,
Take a couple deep cleansing breaths.
You can close your eyes if you want,
But know that it's not necessary if it's uncomfortable.
And as you settle in,
Bring to mind a recent triggering experience.
Maybe it was a meeting at work or another event.
Maybe it was triggered by a conversation with a friend or a colleague,
Or maybe it was another person.
But bring to mind something that you're triggered by right now.
Maybe it's something that says a part that says,
I'm not enough,
Or it was silly for me to say that.
I can't believe I said that.
Or what are they going to think of me?
Or maybe it's a part that said,
You really revealed your true self this time,
And I was trying to protect you from doing that.
Just notice what's coming up.
No pressure,
No agenda.
Maybe you need to just be right now,
And that's okay.
But if you can,
Check in to see if there is one part or one thought or feeling that is most prevalent right now.
And you can use a little attention.
As you sense that,
Notice where you sense that part in or around your body.
Maybe it's a tightness in the chest or a tingling in the lips and mouth.
Maybe it's a color.
Maybe it's an image.
But just take a minute and notice wherever that part is most prevalent.
Check in to see how you're feeling toward that part.
Maybe there is some resistance of not wanting to go there.
Maybe there is some calmness and curiosity and a wanting to connect further.
If there is some resistance,
Know that that could be another part coming up that may need your attention right now.
But if there is some curiosity and a sense of wanting to connect,
Ask the part that is most prevalent if that would be okay.
And ask that part if it would be willing to come and just embody you right now.
Notice the feeling and sensations as that body.
Maybe it's shame or I should have acted differently or what are people going to think of me.
Sense that part embodying you right now.
And let that part know that I know that it's working hard.
Let the part know that you know that it's working hard.
See if I could ask it just a couple of questions.
If there is resistance,
Just keep being with the part.
But if it will let me interview it for a bit,
I'm curious.
Tell me a little more about your job.
I know you're doing the best that you can to provide safety.
Tell me a little more about that job.
What do you need right now?
What do you need to share?
And just imagine that I'm interviewing you as the part that is so prevalent right now.
What else would you like me to know?
I want to thank you for allowing me to spend some time with you.
And I'm curious if you would just be willing to step away and provide some space.
And just witness me engaging with the person that you love so deeply right now.
And let's allow them to be with you and to ask you some questions.
So I invite you just to imagine that part that was so prevalent,
That is so prevalent,
That is just kind of disembodying you.
And just going to the side to witness just a bit.
And I'm curious to you,
Just let that part know that you get it,
If that feels right.
See if there's anything else that it needs to share with you.
And thank it on my behalf again for its courage to allow me to share and to be with it if it was open to that.
See if there's anything else it needs to tell you.
What else would you like to say to the part?
And as we close,
I invite you to just let that part know if it feels right that you're not going to forget about it.
And if it needs more time with you,
That you're going to give it more time.
And then invite all of your other parts around who witnessed me engaging with you and with your part.
Maybe it's a shame part or an I am not enough part or this is confusing part or this is weird.
All parts are welcome.
And thank them for the courage to delve into this different new territory for just a bit.
And let them know that they can have a chance to have time with you too.
I invite you just to come back to the present moment where you are now.
