There's the sincerity of desire in the search,
Where something within you has this genuine curiosity of either connecting with something beautiful or overcoming something painful.
And if it was the time for that,
I could unwind that and show how it all has to do with a sense of identity,
Which can also be traced back to feeling like you're enough.
And we could,
You know,
Tell a story of feeling like I matter,
Feeling like I'm loved,
Feeling approved of,
Feeling respected,
Feeling successful.
Do you see how all of this relates to a personal sense of identity that feels whole and complete?
And so if it's a pain that we're running away from,
It's the pain of seeing yourself as the opposite of that.
And if you're running towards a beauty,
It's seeing the fulfillment of that.
And I love how there's just endless stories about this.
Like if you watch any movie,
It all revolves around this same sort of thing,
But there's countless stories and movies.
And it's just like us as human beings.
We have the narrative of our lives and we have a special story that's unique to us.
But underneath it,
It's the same story playing out for all human beings.
And at the core of this desire is a search for something real.
And it's the search for the reality of a self that is whole and complete.
And here's the dilemma.
In our human quest of chasing something in the future,
What we are chasing is the mind's image of something,
Which is a product of imagination,
Which is to say it's not real.
However,
In the realm of being human and this fantastic illusion we're swimming in,
The illusion looks real.
In the same way that you could tell a story about the thing that you're chasing and you can emphatically believe that it is the answer,
And if only you got that,
It would solve the problem.
But do you see what you're saying is,
If only I capture this image,
It will give me something real.
How does that work?
And even if we were to say,
If my experience looked like this or looked like that,
Then it would give me something real.
What you're saying it looks like is another image.
