Conscious Cache is about creating the life we love. How we think, how we feel, how we generate ourselves, and sharing tools that we can count on for building ourselves and those around us. So much of what we can experience in life is perceived brokenness. There are tools and paths that we can take to ease that journey and find ourselves to be what we always were and are; glorious beams of Light, Love, and Energy, and ready to serve others.

This is Conscious Cash and I'm your host,

Thomas DeShooter.

This is a show about money.

It's not like any other show about money because it's not about getting rich.

It's not about having all the money.

It's about seeing money as energy and learning to harness that energy for your best outcomes.

To live the life you want to live with no regrets,

No excuses,

And with grace and ease.

Welcome.

So excited.

This being the first of many shows.

You know,

I've been thinking about this for a while.

And I guess maybe the best place to start is to set an intention.

What is it we're here to actually look at,

Accomplish?

What sort of things can we bring to light?

I guess to summarize it,

It would be best put as how can we move forward with a consciousness around the flow of money in and out of our lives?

You know,

One of the biggest challenges I've seen in my two decades in the financial services industry is people's mindset and approach to money itself.

And I'd like to offer some very simple tips on how to create a shift.

And that's what conscious cash is really all about,

Is how can we create a shift where the money we have,

The money we make is actually moving in all the directions that we want it to.

And so right off the bat,

I'm going to say the number one thing,

Maybe the first place to start is to just set an intention like for this show.

And so for yourself,

What is something that you could set as an intention for your own cash?

Even if it's just a small goal like,

Hey,

I just want to save,

You know,

Five bucks a week,

Whatever it is,

What is an intention that you can start with your cash?

And what I have found in my own personal journey is that as I looked at my situation with money,

How I treated money,

The energy I had around money,

As I healed my thoughts that were stopping me,

So much of the rest of my life changed.

And so I'll give you an example.

You know,

I grew up in a prosperous household.

My parents,

You know,

Basically,

There's nothing I never lacked.

Really,

I was given every opportunity I could ever want or hope for.

And yet at the same time,

You know,

My parents met a tough road when they had to claim bankruptcy.

And that day,

Things shifted.

And the money conversation that I remember leaving the house with and,

You know,

I don't know if it was my parents or if I just felt this way and I picked up on it myself was that money was hard to get,

That I couldn't afford things,

That I would be broke,

That I was always chasing that next paycheck.

I was always chasing never having enough money.

And it was really internalized.

It was something that I truly believe,

Like,

You know,

I can't afford that.

And the more I said that,

As I look back now,

The more I said those things,

The more I brought that verbiage into my consciousness.

Well,

It was a self reflecting prophecy,

Right?

It actually showed up exactly as I was saying it.

And so as I healed my own conversations around money and allowed myself to be free with money and take it as the energy that it is,

So much of the rest of my life began to heal as well.

And so maybe the best place to start with today's show is to ask you,

What is the conversation you have around money?

What are some of the things that you say that are in your consciousness when it comes to your cash?

You know,

Do you look at rich people and say,

Ah,

Those rich bastards or,

You know,

That person is super rich and I don't like them.

Like,

Are you setting yourself up where you think that having money is a bad thing,

Where somebody creating a lifestyle of prosperity with cash flow is somehow bad?

Because I'll tell you right now that if that's going on,

Then that's showing up in your life.

And one of the things you're going to have to do is take on healing that conversation.

So how could you shift that conversation?

How could you look at it like,

You know what?

Good for them.

You know,

That's fantastic.

And what can I learn?

Like,

What is their approach to money or cash that has them have it show up in such abundance?

That's the work that one could take on.

You know,

One of the exercises that I've done and I took this from Your Money or Your Life,

Which is a great book,

By the way,

Nine steps in there are fantastic.

But one of them was to,

You know,

Even just to consciously think about all of the money I've made.

You know,

I'm 55 years of age as I do this show today.

And when I thought about that,

I started working when I was 12 years old and I don't,

You know,

I couldn't quite figure out the number,

But,

You know,

Just very quickly.

And I don't have I don't have the pages that I did at that time,

But just very quickly here.

Let's just let's just do this as as an experiment with me.

So let's say for,

You know,

The first from age 18 to 30,

Let's say I was averaging what,

Thirty thousand dollars a year.

So that's 12 times 30.

So that's three hundred and sixty thousand dollars.

And then let's say from the age of 30 to 40,

I averaged eighty thousand dollars a year.

So ten years,

Eight hundred thousand dollars.

So plus the 360.

And what we're at one million one hundred and sixty thousand dollars.

And let's say from the age of 40 to 55,

I've averaged around one hundred and twenty thousand dollars a year.

So that's 15 times one hundred and twenty.

So that's one point two million plus another six hundred thousand.

So one point eight million.

And that puts me at roughly having made two,

You know,

Just call it around two and a half million dollars that I have generated in income.

And I'm going to say that a lot of that is after tax dollars as well.

So,

You know,

Just in that alone,

When I think about that number,

It doesn't feel like that's how much money I've made.

It doesn't,

You know,

If I think about it,

It's like,

Well,

Why do I have a mortgage still if I made that much money?

Where did it all go?

And,

You know,

There was a lot of those years up until,

Say,

The last five years of my life.

I really wasn't on top of where my money was going.

You know,

I had consumerism.

I suffered greatly from consumerism and wanting to look like my neighbor and wanting to do the things that other people were doing and not really focused in on what excited me.

You know,

So if there was a second part to today's show that you could look at,

It's what are you really doing with your money?

Where is your cash going?

Is it aligned with your values?

Is it going into all of the things that you say are important to you?

Maybe it's really time for us to explore the relationship between your cash and your consciousness.

Where are you within yourself and how is that reflecting on your cash flow?

Of course,

One of the great things that we could benefit from is from you,

The listener,

Sharing your experience,

Letting us know what's coming up for you.

Where do you struggle around your own flow of money?

Where are you in the consciousness of money?

Do you have conversations that you have about money all the time?

You know,

Are you saying things like,

I can't afford that,

That's too expensive,

Those people are rich,

I don't like them.

Like,

Are those some of the things you're saying?

Because if that is the case,

Let's get on that together.

Let's figure out a way that we can begin to eliminate those thought patterns so that you can be open to more cash in your life and have a freer relationship with money.

One that isn't stressed,

One that doesn't carry any suffering with it.

You know,

What I've noticed in the world of money as I've worked in it is how much suffering there is in the world around money.

And I'm curious,

Does it need to be that way?

How much of that is from our own thinking?

And when I think about our own thinking,

How much of that has been planted from our childhood?

What were the people that had influence over you saying about money and have you adopted those things?

You know,

It's so much of what we do is a learned behavior that comes from others who are well intended.

They don't really know that they've done this.

They don't know that they're dropping these mind bombs on us that end up sticking with us and defining who we are.

And part of conscious cash is becoming conscious of that.

It's opening up.

It's becoming aware of these thoughts,

These patterns,

These feelings that we have that are they truly who we are?

Is that our truth?

You know,

One of the other things I'll share today is what has saved me and allowed me to to have a deeper understanding of my own life is taking on a meditative practice.

And I'll tell you,

The very first time I meditated,

I think I lasted about a minute and a half.

And thought,

Man,

I'm doing it all wrong.

This is like this is not working for me.

I thought I was supposed to be able to stop my mind.

That's impossible.

The mind is never going to stop.

However,

You can get to a place where the thoughts just move along and you're not ruminating on the same idea or you're not stuck in the same concept or thought pattern that is not serving you.

So really,

If you want to take on meditation,

One of the things you can do is to just allow the thoughts to just move along,

Just kind of like you're looking out your window,

Watching cars go by.

That's it.

Yeah,

There's a thought.

There it goes.

And then maybe there's some quiet before the next thought comes along.

If you're somebody that already meditates,

That's fantastic.

Let us know.

We'd love to hear your experience with it and maybe some of your practices.

You know,

Sharing is caring.

I love that saying.

But it works when we learn from others and we see others doing things and it helps them to be successful.

I don't know about you,

But I tend to want to emulate that when I see somebody that their life is working.

I'm like,

Oh,

Wow.

You know,

Maybe I could adopt some of that.

I wonder what's working for them.

And so one of the keys to doing that is when they share their experience,

When they share their successes.

And so I encourage you to let us know here on the show.

Just reach out to us and say,

Hey,

This is what's working for me or I've been doing this for however long and or I just started whatever it is.

Let's have a conversation.

Getting back to the final pieces for today's first show.

I just want to plant some ideas here moving forward.

So,

You know,

Here's how I sort of look at cash on even a bigger picture is that everything you spend your money on is an investment.

So whether you are an active investor in the stock markets or the bond markets or real estate or cryptocurrency,

Whatever that looks like,

Or you own gold or maybe you're not,

Maybe you don't think you have enough cash flow to manage that or take care of that.

I just want you to know that everything you spend your money on is an investment,

Whether it's the food you eat,

The stuff that you put in your house,

The energy that that produces or the energy that it consumes,

The life force it creates or negates from you,

The soul of where it comes from.

Like what does that money regenerate after you spend it on whatever you spend it on?

All of that stuff is an investment with your money.

And then a final piece for maybe today's show is that always give money a destination.

If it doesn't know where it's going,

Money will end up in chaos.

It has energy to it and we give it more energy by how we think about it,

How we treat it,

How we how we circulate it or not circulate it.

And so start opening up to what's possible with your money.

Start giving your money a destination.

Be intentional with your money.

This is conscious cash at work.

Thanks so much for your time today.

We'll be back next week.

And again,

Just reach out to us for any thoughts you have,

Anything you want us to tackle on the show.

We'll if it's around conscious cash,

I'm happy to dive into it and and start the journey and continue the journey as well.

I would just think it's amazing if you shared it with them so that they could benefit,

Too.

That would be that would be fantastic.

Every time you say "if you are saying I can't afford that' I'm saying to myself, but I can't Thomas, I literally can't! When my teenage children need new shoes, gym memberships, l always have to say ' but we can't afford that at the moment.. m' I wouldn't describe myself as a big spender, live quite simply, most of my money goes back into the fold of this household ( government housing/council estate) and by hook or by crook we don't starve or run out of electricity but it is always very ' hand to mouth'. Meditation has helped me to be conscious of my bad relationship with money and it has also given me a sense of abundance & blessings in other area of my life but the energy around money is as stagnant as ever.. covid 19 hasn't helped as I lost two part time little earners in one day. All will be well๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝโ˜˜๏ธ๐Ÿ’š
