Hello and welcome to the 20 Day Meditation Challenge.
Today we are moving on to Day 6,
And so by now you might be starting to feel some of the benefits of meditation.
Perhaps we're feeling a little bit more grounded,
Finding ourselves in the present moment a little bit more,
Or maybe we're just sleeping better or having more space for things that trigger us throughout the day.
And if we're not connecting or seeing any benefits yet,
This journey takes time,
And 20 days is a great amount of time to really start to notice the benefits even after the meditation.
And so before we begin,
Make sure to set up your space,
Closing the door to the room that you're in,
Working with some headphones,
Perhaps an eye pillow.
Feel free to pause so you can really set up your space,
And when you're ready,
We'll begin.
So closing down your physical eyes,
Bringing your awareness to your breath,
Just starting to notice the inhale,
Notice the exhale,
Taking the role of the observer here,
Just noticing.
And then allow for a complete exhale,
And we'll breathe in for 1,
2,
3,
4,
Hold,
And exhale 4,
3,
2,
1.
Breathing in 1,
2,
3,
4,
Hold,
And exhale 4,
3,
2,
1.
Breathing in 1,
2,
3,
4,
Hold,
And exhale 4,
3,
2,
1.
Allowing your breathing to return to its natural rhythm,
And find yourself standing in your space,
The space you have created that is just your own.
Looking around the space,
Taking in the tones,
The textures,
The temperature,
And then making your way over to the chair in your space that is made just for you.
You take a seat,
Lean back and close your eyes.
You let the comfort and safety of this space wash over you,
And as you rest here,
You start to get the sensation as if you're traveling down a slide,
Traveling down through twists and turns,
Feeling comforted and held,
Traveling down in your favorite space in nature.
You walk around,
Feeling the earth beneath your feet,
And taking in your surroundings,
And just allowing that childlike sense of awe wash over you,
Your favorite place in nature.
Here just for you,
And you see a cabin off in the distance.
You can see smoke coming out the chimney,
And almost a sound of music,
A song,
Coming from the cabin.
You start to make your way towards the cabin,
Walking one foot in front of the other,
Feeling the earth beneath your feet with each step,
And you arrive at the front door.
And before you know it,
You're knocking on the door to the cabin,
And the door swings open,
And inside you see your favorite person,
The person that feels the most safe,
The most comforting,
They greet you with a smile.
I've been waiting for you,
They say.
They step back and usher you inside.
You walk through the door into the cabin,
And you feel a sense of unconditional love wash over you.
Your person ushers you to a chair,
Encourages you to sit.
Then they sit beside you.
Tell me why you're here,
They say.
What has brought you to this space?
What do you wish to share with me?
You think for a moment,
And then the words start to pour out of your mouth,
Sharing anything and everything you wish to share to this person,
Uncensored.
Knowing you are heard and in a safe space to share what you wish to share.
You continue to speak your truth,
And your person sitting across from you listens and nods,
Acknowledging everything you say.
Is there anything burdening you,
They ask?
Anything troubling you?
Anything you're holding onto that you need to let go of?
Any resentment?
Any judgment?
Please,
Share that with me now.
Let me hold that space for you,
They say.
You take a minute to think.
And when you're ready,
You release any of the burdens,
Any of the problems,
The resentments,
The judgments.
You let them flow to this person.
Sharing your feelings.
Wow,
Thank you for sharing all of that with me,
They say.
I am honored to be able to hold this space for you,
To hear your concerns,
Your problems.
Thank you for sharing that with me.
I can imagine how hard this is.
And I admire your courage for showing up here and allowing me to hold this space for you.
They show you a piece of paper.
On it,
They have written down all your burdens,
Your concerns,
Problems,
Resentments,
And judgments that you shared.
Take this paper,
They say,
As they reach their hand out to you.
You take the paper in your hand.
Look up at them.
They point towards the fire.
Go ahead and release this to the cleansing flame.
Take all your burdens,
All your concerns and problems,
Your resentments and judgments.
Hand them over to the fire.
Let the fire take away and transmute all the heaviness that is taking up space for joy,
For love,
For compassion and grace.
You walk towards the fire.
And gently place the paper over the flame.
The fire ignites with a whoosh as smoke billows up and out the chimney.
And a feeling of weightlessness,
Of lightness,
Washes over you.
You turn back to your person.
They smile and nod.
It is done.
They walk over to the door and open it.
You follow them to the cabin door.
They place their hand on your shoulder.
You can come back here anytime you need to release what doesn't serve you.
I am here for you.
I will listen.
I will honor our space and time together.
So please,
Come back whenever you need.
You embrace one another in the most loving hug.
And then you turn and walk back out the cabin door.
And you can start to bring your awareness back to your breathing.
Feeling the rise and fall of the abdomen.
And you can come up when you're ready.
