This meditation is all about love... First and for most loving ourselves. This was created for a flower therapy workshop for Valentine's day, which was based around having a soul connection to ourselves and not having to depend on receiving love from others.

This is a meditation of love.

Love you have for yourself and love you give out to others.

We're going to begin by taking a deep breath in,

Breathing up through our nose.

We're going to hold it there for 5 seconds and release it slowly breathing out through our mouths.

Take another deep breath in,

Up through your nostrils filling up your lungs.

We're going to exhale slowly on the count of 5.

One more time,

Breathing in,

Hold it there for 5 seconds and slowly release on the count of 5.

This will help to quieten your mind and you can begin to centre yourself for making that connection.

I want you to imagine there are roots coming out of your feet and going down in the ground connecting with Mother Earth.

Imagine them going deep down into the ground as if you were trying to connect with Mother Earth's core.

Now imagine that you were drawing up her orange energy,

Taking it up through your feet,

To your ankles and moving it up to your calf muscles.

This is casually going over to your knees,

Up to your thighs,

Up to your hips and slowly moving into your stomach.

Then moving up to your chest,

Taking it up to your throat,

Through your head to reach your crown.

Now I want you to take the attention to your heart,

Your big beautiful heart.

Focus on centering your heart.

Feel your heart beating and imagine it in the colour of green.

Feel it glow.

I want you to extend that glow outwards and throw it up into the air,

For it to fall and start to come into you through your crown.

It's going to be travelling down through your head,

Down to your throat,

Heading towards your heart.

When it gets to your heart,

I want you to start thinking about what your definition of love is.

Think about the way you love.

Ask yourself,

What is love to you?

What do you feel when you give love to somebody else?

How does that make you feel?

Does that make you feel good?

Think about that for a moment.

Now feel the flow of the energy passing through to your stomach.

Moving down to your hips,

Moving through to your thighs,

Down to your knees,

Moving your calf muscles,

To your ankles and then into your feet.

Now that that green glow of love has travelled from your heart through your body,

I want you to turn that green glow of love onto yourself.

Let's send love to ourself.

The love that we send to others,

I want you to bring it onto yourself.

I want you to feel the warmth and the happiness that you give out to others.

I want you to accept this love onto yourself and embrace it.

Let's hold it there for a while,

All around our body.

You may visualise yourself giving yourself a hug,

Your hug of love,

Or you can actually give yourself a physical hug.

To feel the energy of love that you send to others which is now coming onto yourself.

How good does this feel?

Sit with that feeling for a moment to see how it feels for you to receive with love.

So what I want you to do now is to take that love we feel that we have sent throughout our whole body and push it down,

Send it down to Mother Earth along the roots that you created to ground yourself in the beginning.

With this new found love,

Find ways that you may wish to love yourself more.

If you have children or are busy with work,

This could be as simple as taking an hour out of your day for yourself.

Giving yourself that little break,

Pampering yourself more,

Do more of the things that make you happy and that you enjoy.

Let's try to reignite a passion within us that you may have put to sleep because of life getting in the way.

Much of what gets in our way is attached to love.

We could be caring for somebody,

An elderly person,

Parents,

Children or a sick friend or a relative.

At the end of the day,

We all need a little love sent our way.

We must learn to give back to ourselves and accept the love that others offer us.

Sometimes someone wants to do something for you or to give you something and you just simply say,

No it's fine,

Don't worry yourself.

Remember,

The only giving that we receive is all about balance.

So now,

Take a deep breath in,

Take it up through your nose,

Filling up your lungs and hold it there for a count of 5 seconds.

And slowly release in it.

Take it up again,

Filling up your lungs with the new found love that you have just had.

Hold it there and slowly release on a count of 5.

And we'll do this one more time,

Breathing in,

Holding it there and exhaling on a count of 5.

Now slowly bring that energy to yourself.

Bring your energy back into the room.

Connect with your toes and your fingers,

Perhaps you want to give them a little wiggle.

Stretch out if you feel you need to.

When you feel you are yourself and you're ready,

Open your eyes and come back to you.
