This is a meditation for resilience.
As we go through life,
There are going to be times of adversity,
Times when things are good,
Times when things are difficult,
Times when things are easy.
And when times are difficult,
This doesn't necessarily mean that there's something wrong.
But what we need to do is develop resilience.
So as you listen to my voice,
Get yourself into a nice,
Safe space,
Noticing where your body is in contact with the furniture,
And listening to my voice,
Become more and more relaxed.
And as you become more and more relaxed,
You can feel yourself dropping down and down into a beautiful place of safety,
And scanning yourself from the top of your head,
Down through your face,
Through your neck,
Shoulders,
Into your chest,
Down your arms,
Through your torso,
Into your pelvis,
Down through your thighs,
Through your knees,
Down into your ankles,
Into your feet.
And I want you to continue to drop down.
As you do that,
You notice that you're dropping into a wide open,
Dark,
Beautiful space,
Within you.
And in front of you,
There is a seed.
You pick up this seed and you plant it.
And you watch it as its roots reach down,
Down,
Down,
Into the earth.
And its stem stretches up,
Up,
Up,
Out through the top of your head,
Reaching out to the sky.
Its branches spreading out,
Its leaves opening up.
And as you feel the gentle sway of the seed,
The gentle sway of the wind,
The trunk gets stronger and stronger.
And those roots go deeper and deeper.
And you notice the sun gets the leaves to open and the branches to reach up.
And notice as the rain comes and it falls on those leaves and it drops to the ground and the water seeps down into those roots that stretch ever deeper into the earth.
And you notice that strong winds are really pushing against the branches,
Blowing off the leaves.
As that trunk sways in the wind,
It gets stronger and stronger.
Now the winter snow is falling and the leaves are falling.
And you notice that the leaves are falling and the snow is falling.
And the branches are taking the weight of the snow.
And as it drops to the ground,
It seeps into the soil,
Nurturing those roots that are going deeper and deeper.
And as the sun unfolds and the snow melts and drops to the ground,
It nourishes even more those roots that are going deeper and deeper.
And you notice the strength of the trunk of that tree and you look up and you see those leaves unfold and you look up and you see those leaves unfolding from buds as the sun comes out and they take up the rays of the sunshine.
And you become stronger and stronger.
Noticing that as adversity comes,
Your strength increases as the trunk of that tree increases.
As those branches reach out and spread,
Taking in as much goodness as possible.
And as the rain falls,
It feeds those roots that are going deeper and wider and deeper into the earth.
And you notice yourself as the seasons come.
The spring is there.
Beautiful acidic colors of those young leaves as they open.
As they invite insect life and bird life to come and nestle.
In its branches.
And the summer comes and those leaves get stronger and darker and withstand heavy rainfall and high winds.
And the autumn comes along and those beautiful leaves change to exquisite sunset colors as they drop.
As they drop and they decay and the rain washes the nutrients down into those beautiful strong roots that continue to nurture this tree.
And the winter comes and it's time for quietness and stillness.
And the seasons roll forward and spring comes along.
Once again.
Remember that at any time you need to feel safe.
This is the process inside you all the time that you can go into this beautiful,
Deep,
Wide,
Dark space and lean up against this tree.
And now being thankful for this tree,
Knowing that it's there all of the time.
You'll come back to me on the count of three.
When we get to number three,
You'll open your eyes.
The world will seem brighter,
Breezier,
More exciting.
And you notice that your resilience is there.
And one,
Knowing that you have all of the tools,
All of the knowledge that you need right there inside you.
Two,
Knowing that as you relax and as you let go knowing that as you relax and as you let the world unfold,
All of the information that you need,
You have.
And number three,
Waking up bright,
Breezy.
The world is brighter,
Colors are more intense.
The sounds are more beautiful.
And when adversity comes your way,
You get excited about what you'll learn.
And you become joyous when things flow smoothly.
This is all done with gratitude.
Well done.
