Welcome.
In this practice we will connect to and shine a light onto our shadows.
I invite you to find a comfortable position to meditate in if you haven't done so already.
Bring over any props you might need that will help you feel nice and cozy,
Such as pillows or blankets.
We'll begin by taking a few breaths together.
Release any breath that you are holding.
Take a nice deep breath in.
Exhale,
Open mouth,
Sigh it out.
Inhale.
Exhale,
Sigh it out.
Inhale,
Welcome in any insights from your higher self,
Soul,
Or spirit team.
Exhale,
Release any resistance or fear you have today in connecting with your shadow.
Continue to breathe in and out of your nose now at your own rhythm and pace.
To begin our practice,
We will connect to our inner worlds and emotions.
For a moment,
I want you to consider what body of water would best represent your inner world and emotions.
It could be a stream,
A lake,
A pond,
Maybe even an ocean.
It could even be a specific physical body of water you know of in the physical world,
And perhaps one that you visit often in real life.
Whatever feels right to you,
I invite you to imagine that you are sitting before this body of water at nighttime.
You are gazing out as the full moon shines up overhead,
Reflecting itself onto the water.
Perhaps your toes are even dipping into this calm and cool water.
It's a beautiful,
Clear,
Peaceful night,
So you can see the stars overhead.
You feel loved and protected by the universe and the divine in this space and time.
In this state of peace,
You are ready to explore and learn from what is not easily seen in the dark,
Underneath the surface of the water.
In this moment,
You know it is not something to be afraid of,
But rather something to get to know and understand.
I invite you to physically bring your hands to your heart if you feel so called,
Or you can simply draw your awareness there and imagine that you are placing your hands there.
In your heart center,
There is a glowing sphere of white light.
This light represents the love you hold within your heart,
The love that you have for all parts of yourself.
With each breath you take,
That light begins to grow.
Feel your hands begin to get warm as the light reaches them,
Transferring into your palms.
Bring your hands down from your heart and reach them out over the water in front of you,
Palms facing down.
From the palms of your hands,
This warm,
Loving light shines like a flashlight onto the surface of the water,
Illuminating what is below it.
Direct this light wherever you wish and however you feel called.
What do you discover here about yourself,
Your inner life,
Beneath these calm waters?
What dark spaces are being surfaced and illuminated?
Consider the unprocessed or uncomfortable emotions,
The patterns or habits that can sometimes restrict or hold you back.
Consider any of the less than kind thoughts or doubts that sometimes lurk in the back of your mind.
Consider shining your light onto any past situations that caused you hurt or pain and that you've held onto for far too long.
Let it shine onto the false stories you've been told about who you are or who you should be.
These might even be stories that you've told to yourself.
Shine your light onto any situations where you need to loosen your grip,
Your desire for control,
Or the need for a particular outcome.
Let the light of your love,
Of the moon above,
All shine onto anything that begins to rise up to the surface.
With this powerful light,
You begin to soothe these shadows.
You are witnessing the spark that begins your healing,
That begins a new phase of you loving your shadows.
As you send out this love,
And as you accept in universal love,
Something strange and beautiful begins to happen.
As you bring your hands down back to your heart,
A golden mist begins to rise up from the water.
It draws up everything that has been beneath the surface and turns it into something new.
Let any pain,
Any confusion,
Any resistance and struggle release and watch it turn to gold.
It transforms into an integral part of your personal power.
Your struggles and pain are becoming your greatest strengths,
Leading you to do and create more goodness and beauty and love in this world.
The golden mist continues to spread over the surface of the water,
Rising higher and higher until it encircles you.
When you heal,
When you are unafraid to look into the darkness,
Your darkness and the light of your love are able to join forces and become a transformative power.
A power that you forever carry with you,
That is forever a part of you.
Let your darkness become your gold.
Breathe in this gold mist and breathe it right into your heart.
From the darkness and the light,
You are reborn.
Carrying this gold and this power within you forevermore,
You can begin to step back now from this water,
From this beautiful night underneath the moon,
And come back into your body and the present moment.
Take a few deep cleansing breaths and welcome in any movements you might need to come back into your physical body.
Gently blink your eyes a few times to adjust back to the space around you.
