At the end of the year,
We are often busy.
This is a grounding meditation to clear your mind and reflect as we embrace the end of the year.
The pressures of a new year can seem daunting.
Resolutions,
Goals,
Plans,
All are symbolic and ways we want to move forward as humans.
With this in mind,
Let us sit or lie down.
Make yourself comfortable,
Spine straight,
Sit bones grounded,
Heart open.
And with an intention to go inwards,
Close your eyes.
Begin by bringing your attention to your breath.
Let your mind focus on your breath,
Observing it only.
Just focus on the inhale and the exhale,
And let your mind quiet as you follow your breath.
Imagine that the inhale is bringing in a clearing,
Energetic light into your body.
On the exhale,
It moves through your whole body,
Clearing it of what no longer serves you.
Yes,
Use your inhale to bring that light through your body,
And your exhale to clear any stagnant energy out.
Inhale with that bright,
Beautiful light going into your body,
And exhale,
The light swooshing through your body,
Clearing it of what no longer serves you.
Do a few more rounds on your own,
Focusing on the inhale and the exhale.
Amazing.
Now let go of that breathing,
And just let your breath be.
Ground into the earth,
And feel its support.
Know that you are here,
Right now.
Imagine,
From the base of your body,
Deep roots forming into the earth,
Grounding.
Feel those roots anchoring.
Feel that grounding energy.
The earth is connected to you.
Your body is connected to the earth.
You are grounded.
You are here.
You are cared for.
And let yourself be.
And in this moment,
Feeling that grounding energy,
Reflect on gratitude.
Something small that brings a spark of gratitude to your heart.
Use this spark of gratitude to find other sparks,
And travel back through the year.
What moments this year are you so grateful for?
What moments have happened that you cherish?
What are you grateful for this year?
Allow these memories of the year to come up and fill you with gratitude as you go back and back and back.
Wow,
A whole year has passed,
And there are so many moments to cherish.
Feel that gratitude within you.
And with the gratitude welling inside of you,
And your body grounded and centered,
Let go of those memories.
They are there,
Always.
Anytime you need them,
Anytime you want to feel grateful,
You can go back to them.
And now,
Think of something you are proud of,
An accomplishment,
Something you did this past year that you can celebrate.
And it's good if there is more than one thing.
Think of these moments.
We don't often let ourselves be proud of ourselves.
So take this moment for yourself.
You deserve to feel proud of yourself.
Think of another moment of pride.
Perhaps it is an achievement,
Or a boundary that was set.
It's been a whole year,
And there's so much to be proud of.
Inhale and exhale.
And let that pride swell inside your body.
Feel it.
Feel so proud of yourself.
And now let that go,
But know the pride is still there.
You've so much to be proud of.
And now,
Think of something you did completely for yourself this year.
Think of a time you put yourself first,
Or when you spoiled yourself or treated yourself to something.
You deserve to put yourself first.
When did you do that?
How did it feel?
Think of this and feel that joy,
That love for you.
You love yourself.
You did that for yourself.
And if there's any inkling of guilt,
Or shame,
Or other feelings,
They're there,
And that's okay.
Those are parts of you.
Say hi.
They can exist.
They're there.
But right now,
It's about you and what you did for yourself.
And feel grateful for that.
Feel that love for yourself.
And now,
With this gratitude,
This pride,
These moments in your body,
Think of moments this year where you felt joyful,
Or loved,
Or just pure contentment.
Maybe you were in nature.
Maybe you were holding a loved one.
Maybe you were doing something you love.
Let your mind go through this past year and feel this joy.
Yes,
I'll let you bask in it.
Inhale and exhale.
Amazing.
Feeling that energy of love,
Gratitude,
And pride in your body.
Beautiful.
And now,
With this reflection and all these energies we've cultivated from this past year,
Think of ways you can continue doing things for yourself in this new year.
You can even set an intention if you'd like.
But don't feel pressure to create a plan or resolution.
Just feel this pride we've come up with,
This joy,
These moments of love,
This gratitude.
Feel it in your body.
And imagine how you can bring this energy into your new year.
Yes,
Think of what you can do for yourself in this coming year.
And I invite you to explore now.
Where are you now?
How are you now?
Inhaling,
Exhaling.
How are you different from last year?
Where are you different from last year?
How have you grown?
Yes,
So much can happen in a year.
If negative or worrying emotions arise,
It's okay.
We are human,
And this is part of our experience.
To feel the good and the bad,
Know you are safe here,
Right now.
And your breath is with you,
Guiding you.
You can breathe through anything that comes up.
Allow the growth of the last year to move through you,
And breathe.
Inhale the good,
And exhale the emotions,
Stagnant energy,
Anything that no longer serves you.
Again,
Inhale all the good,
And exhale what you no longer need.
You have made it another year,
Full of experiences,
Memories,
And moments.
You are here,
Now.
Inhale and exhale.
And let yourself feel through this accomplishment,
Because it is an accomplishment.
Another year lived.
Feel your body on the surface beneath you.
Feel your breath as it inhales and exhales,
And let everything go that we just did.
That was a lot,
But remember all of that is within you,
And throughout the year you will experience so many moments of joy,
Happiness,
Pride,
Gratitude,
And of course,
The challenges.
But know that you can always reflect and come back to yourself.
All of these experiences are within you.
All of these accomplishments.
You are amazing.
Let everything go.
And when you're ready,
Deepen your breath,
And feel your body awaken,
Refreshed,
Rejuvenated,
And ready for whatever lies ahead in this new year.
Thank you so much for reflecting and meditating with me at The Mindful Remedy.
