Get yourself into a place where you can settle and preferably be undisturbed.

So maybe just kind of wiggle in your seat a little bit.

If you'd like to maybe take a few shoulder rolls,

Kind of loosen up a little bit.

That's always nice.

Maybe a few neck rolls.

It's still early if you just kind of rolled out of bed and now you're here for your morning meditation just give yourself a minute to kind of wiggle and shake so you can get comfy.

Once you're ready to bring yourself to stillness,

Please do so.

So go ahead and close your eyes if it feels comfortable to you here.

And then for your first few breaths just let some sighs out through an open mouth.

So just inhale and exhale.

Haa.

Big HA sound,

Open mouth exhale,

Clearing out some space.

Take a few more.

Haa.

Maybe one more.

Big full inhale through your belly.

And exhale.

And gently close your lips,

Just let your breath be natural here.

Sometimes when we're meditating we want to rush to doing all of the yoga or meditation like things that we're supposed to be doing.

So like making your breath deeper or all of a sudden just stopping all of the thoughts that are in your head.

But I think it's really important and more realistic honestly if we can just take a moment to meet ourselves where we are here.

So just notice the rhythm of your breath,

The texture of your breath.

Notice the energy behind your thoughts.

Maybe your brain,

Your mind is super busy already,

That's okay.

Maybe you're still a little sleepy,

That's also okay.

Come into this space and into your body with this sort of open and compassionate awareness.

So just noticing where our body is right now and giving ourselves a space to just kind of honor that.

Maybe you can begin to notice that even just by bringing this gentle attention to your breath that it naturally wants to deepen and lengthen.

Let yourself soften muscles around your face,

Your shoulders,

Your hips,

Anywhere where you might be gripping or tightening.

Just bring that into your awareness as well.

I'm going to move your awareness down gently into your heart.

Heart is the center of everything in our spiritual yoga meditation practices.

As you continue to stay with the rhythm of your breath,

Imagine that you were inhaling and exhaling around your heart.

Maybe you inhale,

Feel yourself creating space all across your chest.

Maybe you exhale,

You can soften back,

Releasing anything that doesn't need to be here with you right now.

That to-do list you have today,

I can wait.

Anything that's keeping you from being fully immersed in this experience,

In this breath,

Just let it go with the breath.

Always come back to it later.

Seeing this breath awareness around your heart,

Try to start to imagine that every inhale breath was breathing in this inspiring and creative life force of the universe into us.

Maybe feel the vibrancy of spring.

It's not quite spring where you are yet.

Just imagine something warm,

Sunshiny,

Buds of green plants just bursting through the soil that creative,

Inspired potential.

Imagine that you could breathe that energy into your heart space here.

As you breathe in that light as you exhale,

Imagine that as a sort of clearing out of space.

You could sweep the cobwebs up,

Letting go of anything that you don't feel like you need to be holding onto right now.

I'm going to offer us some positive affirmations for our day,

For our week today.

Staying in this place of centeredness in your heart.

Just let these affirmations sort of sink into your awareness.

You can repeat them to yourself in your head,

In your heart if you like.

Let yourself be fully present with whatever feelings or emotions that they invoke for you.

My body is rested and my mind is clear.

I am relaxed.

I am non-resistant.

I am open to receiving.

I am energized and inspired.

Creative possibilities are always available to me.

Today is a great day.

Just allowing yourself to sort of sit with the feelings,

The thoughts that those affirmations have stirred up within your heart.

As you gently place one palm on top of your heart,

Just take a moment to fully lean into that open,

Spacious and loving center that you have.

You can always call on this space,

Come back to the center if you ever need some extra inspiration,

Some extra support,

Some extra love.

We always have a choice to choose how we react and how we are as people out in the world.

Take your time to gently release your hands back down into your lap.

Take a sigh out from an open mouth when you are ready.

You can gently open up your eyes.
