Take a moment before you begin your walk to notice the place you're in,

Where you're standing,

Giving thanks to this place,

Giving thanks to anything else that you feel called to share gratitude towards,

Any greater intelligences,

Nature spirits,

Custodians of the land.

When you're ready,

Taking a big breath in through the nose,

Letting it go out of the mouth and starting to step one foot in front of the other.

Just stepping one foot in front of the other,

Feeling how your body knows how to walk.

All you had to do is make the conscious decision to begin.

Feeling the earth beneath your feet,

The soles of your feet,

Meeting the earth's crust.

Noticing whether the textures beneath your feet are hard or soft.

Just stepping one foot in front of the other.

You know how to walk.

Noticing now what you can see around you.

Your sense of sight.

Inviting yourself to explore your sense of sight.

Noticing as many details as you can.

Inviting yourself to explore your sense of sight.

Noticing as many details as you can in the space around you as you walk.

Feeling your feet connected to the earth,

One step after another.

Not looking for anything in particular,

Just simply seeing.

Noticing what's around you.

Exploring with your sense of sight.

Noticing that your body knows how to see.

All you had to do is make the choice to look.

Noticing your breath.

Tuning in to your sense of listening,

The vibrations of sound now.

Hearing the sound of your footsteps on the earth.

And inviting the sounds to meet your ears,

Rather than searching for any sounds in particular.

And inviting the sounds to meet your ears,

Rather than searching for any sounds in particular.

Could you simply invite vibration to meet your ears as you walk.

One foot in front of the other.

Your body knows how to listen.

One foot in front of the other.

Bringing your awareness back to the sense of touch.

Sensing the earth beneath your feet,

Its softness or hardness.

Feeling the clothes on your skin now,

Any temperatures or textures on your skin.

Noticing how those temperatures,

Textures and sensations on your skin were there.

All you did was simply tune in to feeling them.

Your body knows how to feel.

And could you let that sense of feeling drop internally now as you walk,

See,

Listen,

Sense with your skin.

Inviting another layer of sensation.

Sense with your skin.

Inviting another layer of sensation.

Your inner world.

Choosing to turn within.

And noticing what's here.

What emotions,

Textures,

Sensations are within you right now.

Noticing how you were already feeling them.

You just had to choose to notice,

To tune in to this sense.

Your body knows how to feel.

Your body knows.

Now tuning in to the part of you that knows.

The part of you that walks your feet.

That sees.

Hears,

Senses and feels.

Tuning in to the part of you that knows.

The part of you that knows.

The part of you that knows.

Feel the simplicity of this knowing.

The innate intelligence.

Inviting yourself to wander with this part of you that knows.

The rest of your walk.

Tuning back in to any sensation when the mind wanders or gets lost in doubt.

Maybe repeating internally,

My body knows.

Feel the simplicity of this knowing.

The innate intelligence.

Dropping again and again.

Back in to your knowing.

I loved the walking meditation and intentional body check in. I feel that at some point my conscience grabbed onto her steps and I walked in step with her, and while I lost some of the words, I was in a clear mind space during those moments and it felt fantastic.
