Finding a comfortable seated position and once you arrive in your comfortable seat just inviting the base of your being to kind of nestle down into the earth beneath you,
Feeling the weight of your body and allowing a natural lengthening sensation to the spine,
An elevation of the crown of the head and allow there to be a softness along the side seams of your body and the front and back of your body now as you find stillness here,
Bringing your awareness to the sounds that you can hear around you and kind of to this sense of conviction that you have that you're hearing noise,
You're hearing sound,
Sound waves traveling through the air to meet your ears,
You're witnessing these kind of truths of sound,
No need to label them,
Just witnessing the sounds that you're hearing,
Your attention on them,
Allowing them to meet you,
Then bringing your awareness to your sense of touch,
The clothes on your skin,
The air on your skin and similarly feeling the truth that's alive in this sense of touch in your experience,
Feeling the truth that there might be some cool air on your skin,
Clothes on your skin and how it feels to you is how it feels to you,
You don't need to question it or label it really,
Just allowing it to be as it is in the experience of your awareness being on the sense of touch and allowing your awareness to be on the sensation of your breath now,
The truth of breathing in and breathing out,
Noticing that there's no doubt that you're breathing,
That you're inhaling and exhaling,
That the doubt only exists when we start to project our fears,
Worries and insecurities into the future or question our past experiences,
Noticing the simplicity of breath,
The natural truth that exists in this moment and the essence of that,
Sitting here breathing and as you breathe here now I invite you to think about a time perhaps earlier today that you felt doubt about a situation,
Your ability,
Someone else noticing how doubt feels in your body,
The energy that perhaps it draws from you,
The space it takes up in your mind,
Noticing whether the doubt was towards someone else,
Yourself,
The universe,
Noticing how it feels and the flavors of this experience and as you notice this doubt see whether you could just sink a little bit deeper and witness where it's coming from,
Whether there's an experience that you've had in the past that shows proof that you should doubt this person,
Should doubt yourself,
The universe and recognizing here that doubt is a protection mechanism of our mind,
That when we doubt things it helps us to kind of prepare for what may or may not come,
We don't have to be let down and we can stay safe and small with this kind of buffer of doubt,
Recognizing this as you breathe into the sensation of doubt here,
Could you offer compassion and gratitude to whatever flavor of doubt is showing up for you today,
Whatever you've experienced,
Witnessing the endless well of gratitude,
Love and compassion that rests in your heart space and in the air around you,
The space around you,
The universe that is holding you,
Meeting you,
As you begin to welcome gratitude and thanks to this doubt for keeping you safe,
For taking care of you,
Protecting you,
So you're not disappointed,
Seeing whether you could notice what it's protecting you from,
Maybe asking it or just having a gentle openness to its story,
As you begin to breathe in gratitude to it,
Thank you for protecting me,
Maybe just noticing whose voice this doubt really is,
Whether it's yours or a voice of someone else in your life,
And recognizing that this doubt comes from fear,
Wherever it's coming from,
This sense of lack,
Not enough,
And as you continue to breathe this compassion and love into the doubt here,
Seeing whether you could just invite a simple essence of curiosity,
What would it be like to believe instead,
What would it be like to believe,
What would it feel like to believe,
And not only asking this question to yourself but to the doubt,
As if the doubt was its own being,
What would it be like to believe,
What's the worst that could happen,
Being open to anything that doubt has to share with you,
Any answers to that curiosity,
Any worries,
Anxieties,
Or maybe it's met with an openness,
That it doesn't have to be right or wrong,
One way or the other,
And maybe together with the doubt,
Working together as a team,
As you become aware of it,
Thank it for protecting you,
For caring for you,
For keeping you safe,
You choose in this moment to open to new possibilities of belief,
To being curious about other outcomes,
About plan C's,
The plans that you have no idea about,
Couldn't imagine in your wildest dreams,
And as you just build your capacity by journeying with this sense of belief,
Potential and power that lies in you,
Taking the hand of your doubt and working together in life,
You bring your awareness back to your heart space,
The gratitude that rests here,
The weight of your body that rests here,
And the present moment available to you right now,
The realness of this moment,
No room for doubt that the breath is moving in and out of your body,
But you can hear sound,
I'm inviting that sense of truth,
Belief,
And a simple ease to carry with you throughout your day,
As every time you recognize doubt,
You choose to send gratitude to it,
And open just a little more to curiosity,
Belief,
As you choose to open just a little more to life loving you,
When you're ready,
Feeling the weight of your body,
You could rub your hands together,
Place them over your eyes and gently open the eyes behind the hands,
And gently moving the hands down to somewhere that allows you to honor the closing of your practice,
Perhaps to your heart space,
Somewhere on your body or in your lap,
Inviting the fruits of this practice into the rest of your day.
