This is a perfect little meditation if you feel a bit scattered, perhaps needing a break from the desk to reconnect to place and ground yourself. This guided walking meditation journeys with breath to connect to your inner and outer world and remember the ever-flowing life-force in all.

Transcript

Standing up from wherever you are and standing with your feet hip-width apart underneath your sitting bones as you anchor all of your awareness down into the soles of your feet.

As you stand here before you walk wherever you are,

Noticing what is surrounding you,

What your eyes are drawn to,

What you can hear and what sounds you're drawn to,

What you can smell and perhaps what you can taste,

And just bringing a hand somewhere on the body to honor what you're feeling,

What your sense of inner listening is drawn to,

And allow yourself to become aware of your breath,

This portal between your inner world and the world around you.

As you breathe in feel your awareness pulse inside of you and as you breathe out let it come back to the world surrounding you,

The space that you're in.

Maybe as you inhale you close down the eyes for a moment and as you exhale you open them and come back to the space you're in.

Three more like that,

Breathing in,

Breathing out,

Continuing to come inward and journey back outward.

One more like that.

As you exhale and open your eyes to the space surrounding,

See whether you can stay with that sensation of the soles of your feet on the earth as you begin to step,

To walk,

And see whether you could keep that sense of journeying inward as you breathe in and becoming a part of your surroundings as you breathe out,

Allowing yourself to dive into all of the sensations around you as you keep that connection within you,

Breathing in and coming inward,

Breathing out and becoming aware of the space that you're in,

All the while keeping your awareness on the soles of your feet meeting the earth as you walk.

See whether you could allow your senses to absorb and witness the smorgasbord of things to look at.

Smell here in your outer world and anchor into your inner world with every inhale and feeling the portal just like the breath to the inner and outer worlds of the soles of your feet onto the earth,

Your body meeting the outer world,

Your body meeting the earth,

Feeling your skin meeting the air around you,

The textures on your skin,

The clothes,

Perhaps temperatures.

Continuing to draw your awareness in as you inhale and as you exhale allow your awareness to come into the space that you're in.

And as you continue to breathe and walk,

Could you allow this to be like a dance rather than it being one or the other,

Just feeling the pulse of life moving into your body and feel the pulse of life spread outside of you,

Never-ending.

Kind of feeling this circular motion of the breath and of life within and without you,

Inside and outside of you.

As you walk,

Sensing that the earth is not only meeting your feet but of them and vice versa,

That as you walk your feet aren't only meeting the earth but they're of the earth.

As you continue to walk and breathe and witness this ever-flowing life,

Could you feel and know that you are of the earth as you allow the earth's energy to move up through your legs,

Bringing you home,

Reminding you that you are not separate from her.

Pulsing into the pelvis,

The torso,

The neck and head and flowing down from the crown of the head into the shoulders,

Down the arms and out of the hands,

Feeling this grounding,

This remembering of your true nature connect you even deeper to the space that you're in.

To not only the earth beneath your feet but the air surrounding you,

The creatures surrounding you,

The plants,

Perhaps the building,

The people,

Whatever's surrounding you,

Not separate from you but of you.

All connected,

All life,

All belonging.

Bringing your awareness back down to your feet and as you walk now could you allow your steps to bring you back into your body.

Offering gratitude with your steps down to the earth,

Offering gratitude with your breath now as you exhale to the space around you and as you inhale offering gratitude to yourself for practicing,

For connecting.

When you're ready slowing your step to come into stillness,

Perhaps bringing one hand to your body to notice how you're feeling,

Taking a final breath and when you're ready continuing the rest of your day,

Taking the fruits of this practice with you.
