A beautiful practice to help the little people of our Earth feel at home in their hearts. Growing up can be overwhelming, especially when children go from being in a home environment daily, to a school environment. As a school teacher myself, I have sadly witnessed the decline in mental health amongst our younger generations. This is why it is so important to support our little growing hearts, as they are us! This Gratitude Meditation will assist with reducing anger, sadness, confusion and pain.

Let's start by finding ourselves in a nice comfortable seat or laying down flat on our back.

Once you're ready,

Closing down the eyes and bringing your breath to your heart as you breathe in through your nose.

Imagining your breath travelling to your heart,

Taking notice of how it feels for you.

Maybe it feels sad or maybe it feels angry.

Whatever it's feeling,

It's okay.

Start to notice the way your heart is growing bigger and bigger with every breath.

Gently placing your hands on your heart as you feel it grow bigger and bigger.

Start to think of three things that you love.

It could be your parents,

A friend,

A pet,

Even a toy.

Place them inside of your heart one at a time.

Filling your heart with all the wonderful things that you have.

All the wonderful things that you love.

Feel how happy this makes you.

Feel how your heart is smiling.

Now put a gentle smile on your face,

Knowing you are always safe.

Gently start to focus on your breath in through the nose,

Out of the mouth.

In through the nose,

Out of the mouth.

In through the nose,

Feeling your belly get bigger.

Out of the mouth as your belly falls.

Slowly start to blink open your eyes and give yourself a great big hug.

Namaste.
