When we resist the nature of the Self, life passes us by. We miss the beauty, we miss the ability to connect with the light amongst the darkness, and we accumulate things, in the hopes of finding happiness externally. This short practice is to assist you with understanding and practicing coming home to the Self, to internal happiness. And allowing it to be mirrored in your external world. This is a part of my Unpacking the Scribbles from a Messy Mind series.

You brought nothing into this world but your naked body and one day you will have to depart stripped of everything and under my MR behind the financial status,

The labels,

Behind the physical,

The maya,

Illusions.

There is nothing left but the self,

The true,

The raw down to your deepest core without the facade,

Without the conditionings,

Without the fitting into social norms,

Naked self.

When we find self the rest becomes a blessing,

Something to be had and enjoyed temporarily.

Each and every one of us have the capacity to minimize our suffering through the understanding of the universal law that everything is impermanent.

For instance,

Imagine some beautiful flowers growing in the midst of spring,

The fertile soil nurturing their growth along with the sun but they won't be here forever,

The soil will change and the sun will disappear,

The seasons will shift and they too will be no longer.

Yet as you watch them,

As you see them,

They are happy dancing with the gentle breeze and enjoying their time while they have it.

Stopping whatever it is that you're doing right now closing your eyes and taking a deep breath in and out.

Taking a deep breath in and out.

Taking a deep breath in and out.

Connecting to the breath,

Connecting to your life force.

When you resist the nature of your true self,

Life passes you by.

You can accumulate all the material things into this world but unless you have accumulated compassion for your beautiful heart,

Unless you have accumulated acceptance of all that you are,

Of all that you are not,

Of all that you have and of all that you have not,

Unless you have felt your emotions,

Truly felt them,

Even the ones that bring up that sense of fear within you until you accumulate self-love and a higher self-worth.

None of the external factors you have accumulated will bring you happiness.

Tune in to your heart space with your breath.

As you breathe in,

Sending your breath to your heart,

Noticing the way your heart expands.

Begin to find within the center of your core,

The center of your being,

Your true self.

What is it that your heart desires?
