Have you ever heard of that saying,

Just keep swimming?

Well what if I told you to just stop swimming?

Yes stop.

In life we find ourselves running a lot,

Whether it be from or to relationships that don't serve us on a deeper level.

Perhaps it's jumping from job to job thinking the grass will be greener on the other side,

Thinking we'll find some kind of happiness in a different space.

We are running from life as we know it,

Thinking that if we change or if we move or if we start over we will be happier,

We will be better,

We will become a new person able to leave everything else behind.

This is false,

These things are what we call security blankets,

Ideas that turn into actions at times which fill our cup temporarily until we notice old habitual patterns returning.

So what do we do?

We pack up and we start over and we just keep swimming.

The notion of moving forward without doing the internal work is no notion at all.

One must be able to sit with themselves and face themselves truly,

Even those darker parts that surface from time to time but we push them way down,

We suppress them,

But suppressing them only makes them angrier,

Imagining a bottle of soda.

Now imagine shaking it for an excessive amount of time.

What happens to the bottle?

Becomes swollen.

This is the state many of us live in,

The state where we are carrying all these burdens internally yet we won't let them go.

Well for many,

One day someone opens the lid and an explosion of emotional overreaction,

Regret and anger is released.

In some cases this release occurs gradually as we get triggered by external factors that are poking at the blisters we are carrying within.

Take a moment to reflect,

When did this happen to you last?

When were you triggered last?

Why did it occur?

What actually was it that brought it on?

Now try to put aside the person you blamed for opening your bottle and look deeper within.

What was it within yourself that allowed this trigger to lead you to your reaction?

The only way you can begin to heal,

The only way you can change your life and the only way you can be happier is to just stop swimming.

Stop and take the time to connect to what it is within you.

Begin to filter through all the years of conditioning and experiences that you have suppressed.

Create space through letting go little by little.

It won't happen overnight and it sure as hell won't happen in one sitting but slowly you will notice a sense of ease,

Things that once triggered you won't anymore,

Things that once upset you won't matter so much.

Judgement will become a thing of the past and you'll come back to your natural state that is love.

The experiences we encounter in life are essentially a reflection of ourselves.

Our emotional state can only be controlled by another when we give the other the power to control it.

When you take time to reflect and come back to yourself and explore these emotions because every emotion is valid.

What matters is what you do with those emotions,

How you respond to them instead of react to them.

When you do this you give the power back to yourself.

When you allow yourself to be pushed around by your own shadow,

When you allow your emotions to create horrible daily experiences no matter how fast you swim they will always follow,

No matter where you go they will always be there until you stop and face them truly.

Ask yourself who is the driver within my vessel and take charge.

Taking a deep breath in through your nose and out of your mouth.

And in through your nose and breathe out of your mouth.

One more time in through the nose and fully out of the mouth.

Keep taking moments for yourself every day to just stop swimming.

Namaste.
