Hello,
My name is Tess from The Big Heart Journey.
And today we're going to do a meditation for your inner child.
So I want to invite you to find somewhere you are really comfortable.
You can be sitting up or lying down,
Whatever works for you.
Close your eyes.
Take a big deep breath in and let it out.
And just notice your heart beating inside of your chest.
And as it beats,
Just sit with however you are feeling right now.
And I want you to imagine that you are in the place that you live if you are not there already.
And you are sitting there in your space.
And you hear a knock at the door.
And you walk over to the door and open it up.
And there standing in front of you is little you.
Pick an age for yourself where you maybe have experienced a lot of big feelings.
And however old you are at that moment,
This is how old the child is standing at your door.
So whether you were three or seven,
Ten,
Whatever it is that comes up for you,
Picture yourself at that age.
What did you look like?
Imagine your eyes.
Imagine your smile.
What did you sound like when you giggle?
What are you wearing?
Take the picture of little you right now.
Little you standing right now at your door.
To open your front door and welcome little you into your house.
Close the door and say wow,
Thank you so much for coming.
And I want you to imagine showing them your space.
Show them the life that you have created.
Show them your favorite things.
And if there's anyone else in the house,
Can you introduce little you to the people in your home?
What do you want little you to know about these people?
Share it with them right now.
And once you have introduced little you to the people in your house,
Sit them down somewhere comfortable and sit beside them.
And look right in their eyes.
And as you're looking in their eyes,
Just say we're okay.
Look,
Look at what I've created.
I don't need you to protect me anymore.
I've got this.
Can you give them a hug and say thank you?
Thank you for keeping me safe all this time.
And I want you to know that I don't need you to keep me safe anymore.
That I have this home.
We have these people.
And that we're okay.
And I know that you're here and you're with me.
But you don't have to work so hard at keeping me safe.
Can you tell them that they can trust you?
And that you have their back?
Big you can now take care of little you.
Look them right in their eyes and say you can trust me.
What does little you want to do right now?
Just imagine what is it that little you wants to do?
Do they want to hug you?
Do they want to cuddle in?
Do they want to know that they are safe?
There's no risk anymore.
Take a big deep breath in and let it out.
And just notice if there is anything else that little you wants to say.
And then notice if there is anything that big you wants to say.
And can you open your arms now and let little you in and put your arms around them.
Just sit here for a moment feeling their heart against your heart.
We're okay now.
I've got you.
We're okay.
I've got you.
Take a big deep breath in and let it out and feel as if your heartbeats are coming together into one.
Feel you and big you coming together knowing that you are safe,
You are loved,
You are never alone.
And I want to invite you to just sit here in this space for as long as you need.
Sit here bringing your heartbeats together into one.
You are safe.
You are loved.
And you are never alone.
