Bring rest to your body. Ease your mind and soul. This progressive body relaxation breathes from the heart and wraps soothing energy around your body. Best done at bedtime or when you are in need of deep relaxation.

Welcome to your practice today.
Before you settle into your posture,
Before your eyelids close,
Place your hands on your heart.
Offer deep and profound gratitude to yourself for showing up here in this space,
For taking time and recognizing the importance of rest.
Find a comfortable position.
Whatever speaks to your body today.
And with a gentle breath,
Close your eyes and sink back.
Let your body rest today.
Your body that works hard to sustain your life.
Your body that carries you forward.
Your body that was perfectly made.
With each inhalation,
We will seek a restful being.
With each breath,
We will heal and soothe any areas of our bodies that maybe are a little tense,
That maybe ache or have been hurt.
If at any time you become distracted by thought,
You feel pangs of anxiety,
Or you need to simply adjust,
That's perfectly okay.
Bring your mind back to your breath.
Allow it to be your constant.
Allow it to guide you and quiet your mind.
On your next breath,
Sending it all the way down to your toes.
Feel them tingling.
Feel them melting away.
Give them rest here in this space.
As you gently move through each crevice an inch of your feet.
Sending gratitude for all that your feet enable you to do.
Feeling the pads of each toe,
Your arch,
And your heel.
Gently and mindfully moving to the top of your foot.
In through your ankle.
Bringing rest and relief to your wonderful feet.
On your next breath,
Bringing your awareness to your calves.
Letting them melt away down into the floor,
Letting them soften and release.
Being slow and mindful of the tension held in the backs of your calves.
By moving your awareness around to the fronts of your shins,
All of that beautiful soft tissue that holds you up.
Gently breathing and releasing.
Letting go of all of your worries here.
Breathing deeply as you move your awareness to your knees.
Letting them fall away to the sides,
Letting them relax and open.
And breathing now into your quads.
These beautiful large muscles,
They hold the weight of your entire body.
They support and stabilize you.
They are strong and they are powerful.
Here in this space today,
Give them rest.
Breathe into them and let them melt away.
Bring to mind the backs of your legs,
Your hamstrings that often are suspended like an elastic cord.
Feel it soften.
Feel it release.
And as you work your way up the backs of your legs,
Right into the base of your being.
Into your glutes and your sacral chakra.
Rooting deeply down into the earth.
Releasing all tension here.
Breathing gently.
Letting your entire lower body to soften and melt away.
Letting go of loneliness,
Anxiety and a depleted sense of self.
Enlarging your feelings of confidence,
Survival and security.
Breathing deeply into your pelvis and hips.
Our hips hold so much emotion.
If you find yourself physically releasing tears streaming down your face,
Let go and release.
Bring rest.
Bring rest to your emotions.
Know that you are completely supported,
Compassionately,
Abundantly,
Deeply cared for and loved.
Having a bit of time here in your hips.

Moving your breath up through your torso,
In through your abdomen and all of your organs that sustain your life.
Having gratitude for each one and the important job that they have.
Letting your belly soften,
Your breath coming and going with ease.
And now moving your breath up through your rib cage,
Into your chest.
And letting it rest here at your heart.
Establishing a deep connection with self-love and compassion.
Let that warmth spread all throughout your body.
Breathing and resting your entire being.
Moving up to your shoulders,
Letting them fall back,
Letting them soften.
Feeling all of that tension,
Letting go of the weight of the world.
Moving your breath down your arms,
Your biceps,
Triceps and forearms.
Letting your breath melt away any stress,
Any worry.
And feel it like a ball of energy in the palm of your hand.
Let your fingers grow soft.
And as you turn your attention to your back,
Send your breath up your spine,
One vertebrae at a time.
Your entire body growing soft,
Your entire body melting away.
Moving now into your throat,
Relaxing and releasing all of the words that you've longed to say.
Sending your breath down along your jawline,
Letting your mouth fall open.
Letting your tongue rest in the bottom of your mouth.
Gently and gently releasing your cheeks.
The space behind your eyes,
Your eyelids and your brow.
Feeling your ears sit back and your scalp begin to relax.
And on your next inhalation,
Bringing your breath to rest at the crown of your head.
And envisioning your body surrounded by a pure,
Radiant white light.
The light of the universe where your divine being radiates and grows.
You are a wise,
Wondrous and powerful spirit.
You radiate beauty and light.
Embrace your beautiful soul and know that you are perfect just the way you are.
Have faith in yourself for you have the ability to manifest great things in your life if you just put your heart and your mind into it.
Live your life with intention,
A compassionate heart and great purpose.
You are destined for great things.

Totally brilliant. I love this long format meditation. What was the cherry for me is I was only recently thinking I should write to Insight Timer and suggest they have the ability to tag music onto the end of a meditation. I have often finished a meditation session and gone looking for music but in so doing lost my deep relaxation. This is the first long meditation talk with long music to finish! Could have been even longer for me. Thank you.

Pleasant voice to go back to sleep. The body scan was nicely paced and I loved how you honored yourself in the beginning by putting your hands on your heart. Grateful for the meditation

Absolute perfection. Insight timer algorithm knew exactly what it was doing when suggesting this track to me. It was exactly what I needed. Soothing. Full of loving kindness. A wonderful balance of soft spoken word and gentle music. I listened to this in the bath and will do again at bedtime for sleep. Thank you!
