Greetings,
And welcome to Hanuk Zen Healing Arts,
February 2021,
Silent Tea and Meditation with Susan.
Here in the West,
February has become known as the Month of Love,
And that's just what we'll meditate on today,
Specifically,
Self-love.
New Thought spiritual teacher Deepak Chopra shares that self-love is not to be confused with self-care or acts of self-indulgence.
Either self-love is a belief and an acknowledgement that one is innately worthy of receiving love.
So no matter how great or not great we feel,
It's the deep feeling of worth that really matters in the end.
The world is a mirror,
So self-love is necessary.
It is necessary for the greater good.
When we integrate acts of love with that sense of worthiness,
There's a magical shift that happens.
We begin to generate an energy of compassion,
Which ripples outward to the world.
Positive change occurs,
Relationships improve,
And circumstances around us begin to shift for the better.
Without true self-love,
We lack the means to be genuinely loving to other beings and to the planet,
Which is our mirror.
Our silent guided mini-sketch later in today's program will serve as a reminder to know that we are worthy and deserving to receive love from ourselves and others.
So let's begin our meditation now by first settling comfortably into the surface on which you are seated.
Now is the time to gently close your eyes and release any tension in your scalp.
Observe your temples and let go of any tightness there.
Unclench your jaw,
Let your tongue fall away from the roof of your mouth.
Drop your shoulders and allow your body to sink into your surface.
Let's take one deep cleansing breath together in through our nose and out through our mouth with a loud emphatic sigh.
Breathe normally now and relax,
Relax,
Relax and know that there is nothing for you to do right now.
There is nothing for you to do.
There is nothing.
At this time,
Bring your attention to your heart chakra area and notice if there is any fear,
Shame,
Resentment,
Anger or grief there.
If you find any of these,
Just let them float away now like the dark clouds that they are.
Keeping your attention on your heart area,
Breathe normally inward,
Imagining that your chest is being filled with an intense green glow.
A pulsating green light warms your heart,
Filling it to overflowing.
Your heart area is pulsating with green radiance,
Filling your entire chest from shoulder to shoulder,
Neck to breastbone.
Now with your eyes still closed and continuing to breathe normally,
I invite you on a self-love journey.
This brings to mind a time in your life when you felt proud of an accomplishment,
A time when you achieved something that made you feel good,
Something which other people regard as worthy of attention,
Praise,
Time and energy.
Take a moment to really,
Really connect with that experience,
Whether it be present or past.
See yourself immersed in that experience right now.
Feel the self adoration,
Say your name,
I love you.
Now,
Bring to mind a difficulty that you have experienced in your life,
Past or present,
Which has brought you great pain or shame,
An experience which you feel deems your life to be imperfect and when compared to others,
Pales you in comparison to your peers.
This experience diminishes your feeling of worthiness for acceptance,
Your worthiness for praise,
Time and energy from other people.
Again,
Take a moment to really,
Really immerse yourself in this situation.
Feel the feelings,
Connect with the dismay and now say your name,
I love you and you are worthy of love despite the situation which you feel deems you to be imperfect and unworthy of love.
Imagine now a good friend,
A relative,
A child,
Spouse,
A pet or neighbor,
Someone for whom you feel a great amount of admiration.
Bring to mind their beauty,
Their accomplishments,
Their mere existence,
Their positive contribution to your life.
Feel the love and veneration that you hold for them,
Feel it and smile.
Now bring to mind something about that being that has angered you or disappointed you,
Something they have done that has brought you hardship or pain,
Something you may consider to be an imperfection or a burden that they have caused you.
Now send them a wave of love and gratitude and say their name,
I love you.
Now say to them their name,
I love you and you are worthy of my love for the positive contributions you have made to my life and of course I have always loved you even though you may have felt unlovable for your imperfections,
I still love you.
Bring your attention back to yourself now.
Exhale as deeply as you can and with a loud resounding sigh exhale and send love from yourself to yourself as if you were your own best friend knowing that you have to be your own best friend first.
In the words of the Tao,
I choose to be loving to those who are kind to me,
I choose to be loving to those who are unkind to me because love is all that I'm made of,
That is all I have to give away.
This has been a very powerful meditation practice,
Lots of energies have been either shifted or cleared away.
Take your time now and slowly bring your attention back to this present space in time,
Taking care not to move too quickly.
As you go about your day in the coming weeks,
Take notice of the positive impact that your raised vibration will have on those around you and your surroundings.
Thank you so much for meditating with me today.
At this time continue to rest comfortably as we now begin our sacred tea service ceremony.
Nam Samnida Chingu.
Thank you friend.
