It's not a special word Now all we can do is just sync it with the breath,

Sharim If you wish to drop the mantra you can And I just want you to feel the body,
Just feel whatever you find Don't modify,
Don't try to change Stay with the breath if you wish,

One of the essentials Around meditation is that I'm asking you here just to feel what you find,
Not to change,
Not to alter,
Not to modify Why is that?
Because we're hardwired to try to change,
Try to modify,
Make you feel better I'm saying don't do that,
I'm not talking about physically,
If you've got an aching knee,
Then move of course,
We don't want to do ourselves damage But when we try to change something,
An emotional feeling,
Let's say a sadness What happens is what's been happening for decades When we try to fiddle with something,
We lock it up Because only the ego wants to fiddle,
And the ego has no intelligence So when we try to fiddle with things,
Or we block things,
We don't want things,
I don't want this I don't like this,
I don't like to feel like this,
What happens is it gets locked in the body That's what happens,
That's what's the build-up over decades Or there can be What we do here,
And not just here,
I think I have some good mentors who put me on onto this approach We hand our life over to nature,
Nature doesn't block anything So if we just feel something,
Leave it alone,
Just give it space,
What happens is,
And this is the It completes its life cycle But if we're too busy fiddling with it,
Trying to stop it,
Trying to make it into something else,
It prevents it from happening Because everything has a life cycle It comes into being,
It vibrates for a while,
And then it goes out of being But we prevent that from happening Because we think,
If I keep this,
Let's say,
Sad feeling out of awareness,
I'll be well,
It's the opposite But we have to do this without the story,
Me and my sadness because of this,
That and the other Because when I was being potty trained,
Or whatever it is,
This is not analysis We want,
It's like when,
You know,
If you have two windows open,
Or two doors open in a room and someone wafts in,
And they walk through,
They leave a perfume and they go out the other door That's what we want,
That's life,
That's an event in life,
An experience,
They arise and they pass through We are the space,
We allow ourselves to be that space As sadness arises,
We allow it to complete its life cycle Such a different way of being,
There's a lightness We bring a lightness to our existence,
We bring a joy to our existence,
Because no,
Nothing's going to hang around Everything has its nature,
And its nature is one of change and impermanence What happens is ego-mind gets in,
I don't like this,
And that's where the trouble begins I want to get rid of it,
It was already going,
It was already on its way out Because it's the nature of everything We get locked into a story,
Or stories about our experience It's the stories that do us in,
The sensation has never hurt anybody Never,
I've never had one hurt me,
Ever in 30 odd years of doing this All the hurt has come from the mental,
Oh god,
Oh what's this,
This means x,
Y,
Or z,
Oh my goodness,
Projections into the imagined future,
None of them,
None of them came true I'm only talking about ego-mind here,
Not practical Or the type of thought I had a bad stomach a while ago,
So I went to the doctors,
It's different So in the last few minutes,
Unless anybody's got a question,
Let's just sit Even the breath has a life cycle We change ourselves by not trying to change If there's something unpleasant,
Just soften around it Okay,
There we go When I listen to your words,
It all makes so much sense When you're not there,
I forget it again,
