Tonight, we step quietly back more than 2,200 years, into the Qin Dynasty, when Xianyang was the imperial capital of the newly unified Empire. In this gentle sleep story, a young apprentice works beneath Mount Li in the mausoleum workshops of the Qin Dynasty. He rolls damp yellow clay into long coils and raises the hollow body of a terracotta warrior while spring rain taps softly on the tiled roof. The unfinished figure rests beneath a damp cloth, patient in the grey light of the workshop yard. Settle in, relax, and drift gently into sleep.
