
Destress & Decompress From Work
Meditators will relax with grounded imagery to feel supported by the earth below them. Then we move into a body scan focused meditation. Using guided imagry meditators will disconnect and cut cords with common workday stressors. To finalize the meditation, meditators will recall their energy and rejuvinate their energetic body.
Transcript
Welcome to your guided de-stress and disconnect from your workday meditation.
Please find a comfortable position and sit easily with a straight spine.
I invite you to breathe deeply and feel the oxygen filling your body.
Close your eyes if you feel comfortable or focus on a point out in front of you.
Your hands can sit quietly in your lap.
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
Feel your lungs filling with oxygen.
Hold this breath here and exhale with an audible release.
We'll do that again and really feel the release as you exhale all of the air out.
In through your nose,
Hold the breath at the top and let go.
Let everything go.
Begin to connect to your seat where your body meets the ground.
Feel the earth holding you here.
Imagine from this place roots growing from your body into the ground.
With each breath,
Allow these roots to grow stronger.
Send the roots down from your body through the structures beneath you into the soil and the rocks,
Sand,
The crust of the earth,
Into the core of the earth.
Go ahead and wrap these roots around the core of the earth three times.
Really feel your body connecting with these roots deep in the core of the earth.
Feel the energy of the earth supporting you,
Sending you loving,
Cleansing energy from the earth into your body.
Now we will do a body scan and as we touch on each part of your body,
Send any tension that you feel here through your body down into the roots into the earth.
Allow the earth to accept this tension and recycle it into new energy.
We will start from the top of your head.
Feel into your crown,
Into your scalp,
Down onto your face.
Notice your forehead,
Your eyebrows.
Relax your eyelids and skin around your eyes.
Feel your ears,
Your cheeks.
Any tension that you're holding here,
Just release it.
Let it flow down your body into the earth.
Notice your lips and your tongue.
Release your jaw.
Notice the back of your head from the base of your skull down your neck to the tops of your shoulders.
From the front of your throat down to your collarbones,
Release any tension here.
Relax your shoulders and your upper arms,
Your elbows and your forearms.
Notice your wrists,
The tops of your hands,
The palms of your hands.
Your pinky fingers,
Your ring fingers,
Middle fingers,
Pointer fingers,
And your thumbs.
Now feel into your chest.
Notice the way your chest moves with each breath.
Notice the way your upper back moves with each breath.
Feel into your rib cage and your diaphragm.
Relax your belly,
Your middle back,
And your low back.
Notice your hips,
Any tension,
Remember to just let it flow through your body down into the earth.
The tops of your legs,
The backs of your legs.
Your knees,
Your calves,
Your ankles,
The tops of your feet,
Your heels,
The soles of your feet.
Your big toes,
Your second toes,
Third toes,
Fourth toes,
And fifth toes.
Now feel into the energy of your whole body,
Every part we just touched on,
Supported by the earth.
As you feel grounded here,
Anchored to the earth through your roots,
Imagine out in front of you a cloud,
About an arm's length or more away from you,
Connected to your body through a cord.
This cord is attached from the center of your body to the cloud out in front of you.
Within this cloud,
I want you to put anything that's causing you stress,
Anything that's causing you frustration,
Anything that's draining your energy.
You can place your laptop or computer here,
Your to-do list,
Your boss or your coworkers,
Place them into the cloud out in front of you.
Feel the connection of the cord from the center of your body to the cloud,
As you continue to feel the connection of your body down into the earth.
Place anything that's causing you tension or draining you any negativity into this cloud.
Now I want you to cut the cord that's connecting your body to this cloud.
You can use scissors,
Use your mind's eye to cut this cord.
Maybe your cord is very thick and you need a machete.
Go ahead and cut this cord,
Release this cloud and let it float away.
Feel the physical release as you let this cloud go.
Feel the lightness in your body as you watch this cloud float away.
Feel your body held and connected to the earth as this cloud floats farther and farther away from you.
Now imagine a golden sun hanging above your head,
A bright golden orb of light glowing the size of a beach ball.
You can reach up and feel it with your hands if you'd like.
Imagine it here glowing above your head.
This sun is accumulation of all of your energy,
Your own personal energy.
I want you to collect all of the energy that you've put out into the world today and anytime in the past.
Collect your energy back into this golden orb above your head.
Feel this orb growing and glowing with your own personal energy above your head.
As you've collected all of your energy that you've put out into the world,
Allow it to sit here above your head for a moment.
Now bring this glowing orb,
This glowing sun of your own personal energy down over your head.
Let it cleanse your body,
Rejuvenate and refuel you with your own energy.
Bask here in your own energy,
Warm,
Supportive,
Loving light.
Allow this golden sun to fill you up and restore your own energy.
As you sit here and bask in your own energy,
Feel that warm,
Supportive,
Glowing light.
Regather your roots that you've sent into the ground.
Slowly release them from the core of the earth,
Unwrapping and unraveling,
Pulling them back up through the crust,
The rocks and the sand,
Through the soil and the structures beneath you,
Back into your body.
Feel whole,
Rejuvenated and complete here.
As you've returned all of your own energy to you,
You've returned your power,
You've returned your peace,
You felt the loving support of the earth beneath you.
Let's sit here for a moment and bask in the reflection of this beautiful practice.
