Let's explore ways to kickstart our day on a positive note.
Beginning the day with a smile sets the tone for a happier and more productive day.
Sometimes we might have to work a bit to get that smile going,
But if we even get the idea,
The image of a smile in our minds,
It's going to help.
First,
Let's start out with something easy.
Don't need any equipment other than your mind and your heart.
Let's focus on gratitude.
Ask yourself,
What am I thankful for today?
Doesn't have to be something big.
It could be something simple like the comfort of your bed or the fact that you have a new day ahead.
Gratitude is a great and a powerful way to set the foundation for a good day.
Why?
Because I know from my own experience,
It redirects your mind away from worry about what will happen later today and towards what's good right this moment,
Which is where we live in the present.
Not thinking about what happened last night,
What's going to happen later on.
Gratitude puts us right in the moment.
What's good this moment.
Next,
We have our affirmations.
I've come up with a few and feel free to chop them and change them as you like.
Today,
I will face whatever comes my way with strength and positivity.
I am capable of achieving my goals.
I am grateful for this new opportunity to live and grow.
And those are just some little seeds to help you come up with your own affirmations that work with you and your circumstances and keep you headed in the right direction this day.
They can help us set a positive,
Confident tone for the day ahead.
Then,
The next thing to get that smile going,
Get a little physical.
A few quick and easy gentle exercises.
First thing in the morning,
So don't overdo it.
Just take it easy.
Just waking up the body.
You might even know some of these.
There's the knee to chest stretch.
When you're lying on your back,
Gently pull one knee towards your chest.
Hold it for a few seconds and then switch to the other side.
So easy.
It's going to loosen up your lower back and your hips so we can make it easier to move once you get out of bed.
And also,
We carry a lot of tension in our hips,
Mental tension.
This might be a way to open the door to more freedom in that area.
Then,
Little tiny ankles and wrist rolls to get the joints loosened up.
And then,
The last thing just before you get out of bed,
Easy peasy,
Easy seated forward fold.
You sit on the edge of your bed.
You can also do this standing up,
But just to put it into a take it easy mode,
Do it sitting on the side of your bed.
And then,
You gently lean forward to touch your toes or as far as you can go.
That's for the back,
The hamstrings,
And to get us energized.
Remember,
This is the first thing in the morning,
So go easy.
Even the smallest movements are helpful.
Okay,
Now you have to get out of bed because we've got some mirror exercises.
That's you talking to you,
Realizing that you're good enough and everything is working out for you this day.
Stand in front of a mirror,
Look yourself in the eye,
And give yourself your best smile.
A smile that comes from the inside,
Not a forced smile.
You don't have to grin and show teeth,
If that's your way.
No,
A quiet smile will do.
Don't force it,
But just show yourself a pleasant face that says to you,
You're amazing.
You got a good heart.
This is you.
You can even say a few more encouraging words,
Affirmations.
I'm strong.
I'm capable.
I deserve love and success.
I have a lot to offer and there are people who are in need of that and are waiting for me.
Or,
If it's any help to put a little distance between your belief and what you see right in front of you,
Try third person.
You're strong.
You're deserving of love and success.
Just do whatever way feels better and more believable to you.
That's the key.
Belief.
Just keep trying.
Don't give up.
You'll eventually get into your own rhythm,
Learning what works for you and what can be done quickly to start your day in a positive way with an inner smile.

Find out what works for you to start your day in a more self-empowered way.
And then when you find it out,
Make it a habit.
Do it every day.
Start your day with a loving inner smile and that will eventually spread to a beautiful outer smile for yourself and those you meet during the day.
