
Waterfall Detox

This exercise is helpful when feeling mentally or physically unwell. Let's cleanse the body of all those infirmities with a gentle body scan then a guided walk through the meadow and into the waterfall. Find a quiet space, lie down, and press play.

Hello and welcome to Sophro Solus.
My name is Lani Pudity,
Sophrologist.
I wrote and recorded this exercise for you.
This waterfall detox is nice to do when you're feeling unwell.
We'll do this exercise lying down as this is usually the position you find yourself in when you're feeling unwell.
You might be lying in your bed,
On the floor,
Or perhaps on the couch.
Wherever you are,
Close your eyes.
Become aware of your breathing.
Inhale through your nose.
And exhale through your mouth.
Realize that while your eyes are closed,
You can still visualize the space around you.
The ceiling above.
The walls surrounding.
And the surface beneath.
Allow your body to relax into this space as if you are a part of it.
Feel the touch of your heels to the surface.
Your calves.
Your arms.
Your shoulder blades.
Back of your head.
Sense how your body engages with the floor,
The mattress,
Or the cushions beneath you.
During the exercise,
I'll speak in first person as if you're speaking to yourself.
Let's begin.
I become aware of my breathing as if the whole body is breathing and renewing.
I become aware of sounds far away.
Of sounds near at hand.
And of sounds from my own body,
My breathing,
Or my heartbeat.
I welcome those sounds as being part of life without trying to determine what they are.
Now concentrating on my body,
I become aware of my head.
Becoming aware of my forehead.
My eyes and all the tiny muscles around my eyes.
My nose.
The air going in and the air coming out.
My mouth and jaw.
I become aware of my ears.
My brain.
And the back of my head.
This is my first system.
Now I become aware of my neck and throat.
My shoulders.
Back of my arms.
And the back of my hands.
My second system.
Now becoming aware of the chest area.
The heart and lungs and respiratory system.
The upper back.
The underside of my arms.
The palms of my hands.
My fingers.
All of my third system.
And then the area between the rib cage and the navel.
The internal organs of my digestive system,
The stomach,
Liver,
Adrenals.
The middle part of my back.
My fourth system.
Now I become aware of everything below the navel.
My lower abdomen.
Internal organs.
The hip and pelvic area.
The upper legs.
My knees.
Lower legs.
My ankles.
Top of my feet.
My toes.
And the soles of my feet.
All of my fifth system.
Now focusing on the whole of my body.
Become aware of the weight of my body.
The temperature of my body.
And the size of my body.
Breathing out to fully empty the stomach and lungs.
Breathe in fully through the nose.
I hold my breath and I tense the whole of my body.
All the muscles.
Tensing.
Tensing.
A bit more.
A bit more.
And then release.
Relax and letting go.
Taking an integration pause.
Becoming aware of all the physical and mental sensations that are present in my body now.
Now I'm going to activate change and transformation while detoxing my body of any infirmities that do not serve me well.
For this I visualize the countryside.
The sun is shining.
The day is warm.
I am walking through a sunlit meadow.
Golden rays of sun reflecting off the daisies and the wildflowers that surround me.
The aroma in the air is fresh and clean.
I enjoy inhaling the scent of the flowers.
And I look up and I notice a mountain where there is a gentle flow of a beautiful waterfall.
I feel drawn towards this waterfall.
And I find myself walking along the path until I come to the foot.
Bathed in sunshine it sparkles and invites me in.
Feeling warmth from the sun I take off my clothes and I walk under the waterfall.
I feel the refreshing water trickling down my skin.
My skin is being cleansed and renewed.
And then I realize that water droplets are moving inside of my body.
I can feel the waste products from the cells releasing from my body.
I can feel my body beginning to detox.
Letting go of everything that it doesn't need.
Letting go of all the bacteria,
The emotions and the habits that no longer serve me.
The water is purifying and cleansing inside and outside.
I realize the droplets of water going even deeper into every organ in my body.
The organs are cleansing.
I visualize each organ in the body letting go of any foreign matter that it doesn't need anymore.
The water is sparkling and glistening as it runs through my body.
And I look down into the pool of water below me and I notice the plants sucking up and using the waste products from my body.
I realize that the fish are feeding on the plants and I become aware of the cycle of nature.
One living creature connecting to another.
There's no waste.
Everything gets used.
Everything feeds everything else.
This is the detoxing transformative cycle of life.
I become very aware that I am part of the cycle of life.
I am supported by life.
I am life.
I leave the waterfall and I walk to a wide open meadow blanketed in sunshine.
The temperature is pleasing.
I lie down in the meadow and I feel warm rays of sunshine on my body.
The sun warms my wet skin and I notice vapor rising into the atmosphere.
The sun is drying the water on my body.
I see a river nearby and I notice steam rising from the river.
And then I realize this is part of the cycle of nature.
The water from the river,
The water from my skin being warmed by the sun.
Vapor rising into the atmosphere forming clouds.
The clouds bring rain that fills up the river which flows and becomes a waterfall.
Lying in the sun on the meadow,
I reflect on my waterfall experience and I know that I am part of the whole.
I am a vital part of the cycle of life.
I feel the light of the sun penetrate and detox each and every cell of my body completing the action of water.
Everything is lost,
Everything is transformed.
Letting go now,
Coming back into this space.
I am now dressed and back in the room where the exercise began.
I sense the ceiling above,
The floor beneath and each of the walls surrounding me.
I feel safe,
I feel well,
I feel comforted,
Clean and renewed.
Integration pause,
Observing everything that's presently happening in my body now.
All of the physical and mental sensations.
Now as this session comes to a close,
We're going to activate three capacities.
As I breathe in,
I activate my capacity to trust and have confidence in myself.
And then I activate my capacity to harmonize my mind,
My body and my spirit.
And then as I breathe in,
I activate my capacity to create a positive future full of wellbeing.
Now keeping these feelings of wellbeing,
I begin to move and stretch the body,
Taking all the time that you need.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes and just relax and contemplate on your waterfall journey.
You might like to write your experience in a mind practice journal so that you can refer to it at a later date.
