Okay.
Welcome,
Welcome.
Welcome to your practice,
Your space.
Let's take our time.
To circle into our posture and Maybe that means a little bit of movement,
A bit of fidgeting,
A bit of circling.
To help us remember that we are a body.
And their sensation.
How's the spine feeling?
How the shoulders.
Do the hands need a little shake?
Or wriggle,
And can you feel the soles of your feet,
Your heels on the ground?
Of good food.
And.
.
.
As you start to.
It's a funny thing,
Isn't it?
With the freedom to wriggle and move,
You.
.
.
Well,
At least I find.
I can access stillness more easily.
And as the body settles into stillness.
Perhaps.
He noticed your breath.
Maybe it's possible to breathe through the nose.
So we're waking up to our breath.
Might feel the breath moving in and out through the nostrils.
Let's take time to really notice that sensation.
Hmm.
Might be a temperature difference between the in-breath and the out breath.
Or a texture difference.
Perhaps you feel how the breath moves down.
Perhaps you can notice your lungs.
An invitation to be curious.
About your lungs.
And what you can notice.
As you're here in this moment.
Waking up to your breath.
What can you feel of the expansion on the inhale?
And what you notice.
With the exhale.
The lungs frame the heart.
Like wings.
The heart nestles deeply within the lungs.
Not separate from.
Connected by tissue.
Embrace connected by the movement of oxygen and carbon dioxide.
Heart and lungs are pretty much.
Same thing.
A continuation.
Of one thing.
Lungs as the wings of the heart.
Can you feel that pulse?
Maybe you bring your hand to rest.
On your chest,
Your heart space.
Our heart sits right in the centre.
Of the lungs and is slightly larger to the left.
With your hand to your heart can you feel your pulse?
It's easier to feel if you move slightly to the left simply because of the chest plate.
The breastbone.
But the heart is central.
In fact the arteries.
And the veins.
That move throughout the entire body are a continuation of the heart.
They're not separate.
So in this way the heart is the entire body.
Do you feel that pulse?
One of the funny things we do as humans is we do love.
A hierarchy.
We love to believe.
If something's in charge.
And so we are often taught that the heart pulses and then the blood flows.
But there's evidence that suggests that it's the flow of blood.
Through the arteries,
Through the veins.
That pulses the heart.
Another hierarchical piece that we are often led to believers that the brain is dominant.
Over the rest of the body.
But the heart is here long before the brain has even formed.
Our beginning,
Is more heart than mind.
And our heart itself is formed.
In response.
The arterial flow of blood from our mother.
A heart.
Emerges.
In relationship.
The muscles of the heart spiral.
And the field,
The electromagnetic field of our heart.
Is way beyond the bounds of our body.
50,
000 times stronger.
The net of the brain.
A breath takes us to our heart.
Can be easy to say.
That we live from our heart,
We're heart centered.
How is it to experience?
Your heart.
Noticing how the body is responding.
To an invitation.
To feel your heart.
I'm not implying that that is easy to do.
Intelligence.
In the body that may have hardened and protected.
Keeping you safe.
Coming to the heart in this way may feel quite risky.
Breathe.
Sorry.
Anger.
They reside in our hearts with love.
And kindness.
And joy.
Perhaps,
For now we touch lightly.
Into our heart space.
Just interested.
In the experience of a heartbeat.
With our breath.
Finding ground once again and allowing the breath to deepen.
What's here for you now?
What's in the residue of your practice?
Or hurts emerge from relationships.
Can we be in relationship with our hearts?
As always,
We offer the fruits of our practice to ourselves,
To each other,
And to all beings.
Thank you so much for being here,
For practicing in relationships.
My heart,
Your heart,
Our heart.
Namaste.
