The mathematics of the material world tells us that when we divide,

We diminish.

Share $10 and you're left with less.

But what if the spiritual economy operates by entirely different laws?

Consider how giving attention doesn't deplete your capacity for awareness.

Or how sharing knowledge often deepens your own understanding.

These paradoxes point to a profound truth.

Generosity doesn't weaken us.

It strengthens our inner resources in ways calculation cannot predict.

When we cling to what we have,

We unconsciously declare,

I am finite,

Limited,

Insufficient.

Yet each act of heartfelt giving sends ripples through this belief,

Revealing a self that expands rather than contracts through sharing.

Let's explore this expansive principle through a meditation on how giving enlarges rather than diminishes our inner light.

Sit comfortably with your eyes open,

Gaze resting softly on the floor before you.

Allow your body to settle as you bring your awareness to this present moment.

As you breathe naturally,

Focus on the theme that sharing freely strengthens your spirit.

Consider how giving,

Rather than diminishing you,

Actually expands your capacity for joy and fulfillment.

Imagine your heart as a balloon,

Luminous and light within your chest.

With each act of giving,

Whether it's knowledge,

Time or material resources,

Visualize this balloon expanding,

Slightly growing brighter.

Notice how this expansion creates more space within you,

Not less.

As you give,

You do not become depleted.

You become more spacious,

More capable of holding light.

Think of a recent moment when you shared something valuable with another person.

Remember the feeling that followed.

Perhaps a subtle warmth or lightness.

This was your spirit strengthening.

Silently affirm,

I become bigger by giving.

Nothing is diminished,

Only expanded.

With your steady gaze,

Visualize yourself standing before someone in need.

See yourself extending your hands,

Offering exactly what they require.

As this giving occurs,

Watch the light within you grow brighter,

Not dimmer.

Feel how this act of sharing creates a circuit of energy,

Flowing out from you,

Creating benefit for others.

And then returning to you multiplied.

There is no loss in this exchange.

As a trustee,

A steward,

Recognize that resources are meant to circulate.

When they flow through you to others,

They fulfill their purpose,

And you fulfill yours.

Continue breathing calmly as you embrace this consciousness.

Sharing freely strengthens my spirit.

Carry this awareness with you today.

Each act of giving is not a loss,

But an investment in your spiritual growth and in the well-being of all.

Aum,

Shanti,

I am peace.
