Sleep is a gift that we all need, but sometimes the stresses of life make it difficult to drift off to sleep. Consider this meditation before bed, which includes some gentle stretches to help your mind and body surrender to sleep.

Hello,

And welcome to Daily Bomb.

Are you having trouble sleeping?

If so,

Join me for this brief meditation.

Remember,

Your body is also a part of meditation.

So let's begin by standing and stretching the entire body.

Begin by stretching your arms overhead.

And as you inhale and exhale,

Begin to gently lean side to side.

Good.

With your arms down by your side,

Begin to gently twist side to side.

As you breathe in and slowly out.

Now with your hands on your hips,

As you inhale,

Begin to slowly lean back and arch your spine.

And on your next exhaling breath,

Slowly soften your knees as you fold forward hinging from your hips.

Beautiful.

Begin to slowly roll all the way up as you breathe.

Leaning back to a standing position as you prepare to ground and center yourself.

Now ground your physical body in a lying down or seated position.

For a few moments,

Pause,

Close your eyes and breathe as you open the eyes of your heart.

Let's journey within.

Notice energy moving and swirling within as you consciously connect to your breath.

Breathe in through your nose very slowly and exhale through your mouth completely.

Continue to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth very,

Very slow.

Feel yourself surrendering to stillness as energy and internal movement settles within your body.

Breathing in for three,

Two,

And one.

And exhale on three,

Two,

One.

Let's do that one more time.

Breathe in for three,

Two,

One.

And slowly exhale for three,

Two,

One.

Feeling more relaxed,

Notice the heaviness in your arms and legs as you continue to breathe in and slowly out.

Feel your body settling down and sense your mind following suit as you center your thoughts on God's beautiful promise to you.

In peace,

You can lie down and sleep because the Lord will keep you safe.

Let this meditation offer you freedom.

Freedom from struggling,

Freedom from goal setting,

Freedom from pushing,

Freedom from pulling.

Just rest and be for a while.

As you let go of resisting,

Surrender to sleep.
