Hello,

My name is Sherelle and I want to invite you on a journey this evening.

A journey into reclaiming your right to rest and to ease into divine sleep.

If this is something that you're interested in because you find it difficult to fall asleep,

Then join me as we take the journey in.

On this journey,

We will release those things that prevent us from falling asleep.

The stresses of the world,

The heaviness on the mind,

The anxiety in our bodies.

We will cast them over to the Lord because we know that he cares for us.

If you are ready for this journey,

Let's begin by finding a comfortable seated or lying down position.

Begin to settle yourself in your space,

Making yourself comfortable.

Now,

Begin to really relax.

Begin by relaxing your eyelids,

Allowing your arms to fall by your side.

And as you let go with each inhaling and exhaling breath,

Feel yourself resting in the arms of the Father as you breathe in and as you breathe out.

As your body rests,

Your mind may still feel alert,

Join me as we begin to count backwards.

This count gives consent to the gift as we invite rest and relaxation into our mind.

The body and the spirit.

Let's begin.

Ten.

Nine.

Eight.

Seven.

Six.

Five.

Four.

Three.

Two.

One.

Allow yourself to surrender and to completely let go.

Let go of the burdens.

Let go of the worries in the mind.

Feel your body becoming heavy and warm,

Each muscle unclenching,

Releasing,

And gently softening with each inhaling and exhaling breath.

As you breathe,

You are calm,

You are relaxed,

You are at ease.

Allow your head to rest heavy and allow the muscles in your face to soften.

The muscles around your neck begin to release and relax.

The tension and the heaviness that you're holding in your shoulders,

The tension begins to melt away the more and more you breathe.

Notice the heaviness in your arms as they become relaxed,

Melting into your space.

The front,

The sides,

And the back of your body also relaxes as you breathe with ease.

Your hips,

Your legs,

Even your toes are ready for the gift of rest and sleep.

Your body yearns for that gift of rest and sleep.

As your body finds rest,

We are reminded that this is a gift from God.

In Genesis,

God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy because it was the day when He rested from all His work of creation.

We affirm to our bodies,

Our mind and spirit,

That God created rest,

And rest is a blessing.

You my friend are designed to rest.

As you breathe,

Allow yourself to mentally let go of the work,

The project,

Anything that pulls on you,

Begin to release and cast it to the Father.

At the end of the day,

It is time to release it from your mind,

Your body,

And your spirit.

Do not take those worries with you to bed this evening.

The end of the day is done.

Now God desires to bless you for the work of today.

Take this gift,

This blessing of rest.

In Matthew 11 28,

God reminds us to come to Him,

All who labor and are heavy laden,

Because He is the one who gives us rest.

You are reminded,

Dear friend,

Through this meditative affirmation,

That God is here.

Let go of the stress,

And by faith receive your divine rest.

Breathe into this gift,

And receive this gift.

As you feel yourself drifting off,

You may find it hard to truly let go.

There may be lingering thoughts that you have to complete something or solve a problem before you rest.

But dear friend,

God is in control,

And there is no need to worry,

No need to continue to problem solve as you are receiving this gift.

I want to remind you that you can find true rest in God.

In Psalms 62 verses 1 through 2,

We are reminded that our soul finds rest in God alone,

Not in problem solving,

Not in being in control.

The scripture reminds us that our salvation comes from Him,

And He alone is our rock and our salvation.

He is our fortress,

And we will never be shaken.

That lingering problem,

That one thing that you just had to complete today,

But you weren't able to,

Those things that linger,

By faith let them go.

In this moment,

They do not matter.

Allow yourself to receive the gift.

Dear friend,

When you receive the gift,

There is a sweetness that falls over you from the heavens that only God can provide.

You see,

The scripture is saying,

When you lie down,

You will not be afraid.

When you lie down,

Your sleep will be sweet.

Surrender to lying down,

Letting go of the illusion of control.

There is a sweetness in the surrender.

Allow your body to rest and to lie down.

As you breathe,

Breathe into your surrender.

And as you exhale,

Let go,

Because you are not afraid.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Rest.

Breathe.

Breathe.

Receive.

Allow the sweetness of this gift to pour over your entire being,

Like raindrops covering your soul and washing away the residue of the day.

As you lie down,

You will find sweet sleep.

And when you awake,

You will know that the Lord has sustained you.

God will cover you.

God will protect you in this most vulnerable state.

You are safe.

You are blessed.

You are blessed.

As your body continues to surrender,

You are reminded that this is an opportunity for God to restore you in your most vulnerable state.

In this place of deep surrender and rest,

God mends the broken heart and heals our soul at the deepest level.

Breathe and receive your rest,

Your healing,

As you are restored through divine rest.

What a blessing! Your speech was slow and soothing and I liked how fit the Scriptures throughout. I fell asleep before the end, I will be listening again. πŸ•Š
