Any change of season is exciting, full of anticipation, and at times overwhelming for our bodies and minds to stay connected. This is a perfect time to come back to (or find) your center and let your energetic and physical body take root. When you are grounded into yourself and rooted into the earth, you are positioned to ask for and receive all the love and support you need. From this “space” you can expand into parts of yourself that you’ve not yet experienced.

Hello loves,

This is Sharon Land and I am going to be guiding us through a grounding meditation using body awareness.

I find that this is a really wonderful time of year during the equinox,

Depending upon the hemisphere that you're in,

Going from winter to spring or spring to winter.

I want you to take a moment and think about maybe why it is that you chose to do this meditation today.

And I also want you to take notice of how your belly and your chest and your head and your energetic body all feels when you reflect on this topic.

Also take some time to notice emotions.

Sometimes you might associate emotions with the equinox and these can be visceral feelings.

And sometimes you can also be aware of just a general positive or negative impact of any stories that you believe in regard to the equinox and our body and how we can ground into our body and then into the earth.

And I want you to be open to an increased awareness of yourself in general as we continue this exercise.

So I want to encourage you to find a beautiful nest for yourself right now.

Get comfortable.

If you need a wedge or a cushion or a blanket,

You can be on the floor,

You can sit on a chair,

But we want to be connected to the ground.

So if you're sitting on a chair,

Make sure that you can place your feet on the ground.

And if you're sitting on a cushion,

Take your cushion down to the floor.

Some of you can sit on your knees with your shins and the tops of your feet placed on to the ground,

Or you can cross your legs and arrange the height of your cushion so that your knees are lower than the height of your hips.

Sometimes you can rock back and forth to find yourself settled into your spot.

Sit up tall and feel an energetic thread pulling you from the top of your head and the back of your head all the way up to the sky.

And close your eyes and allow yourself to just roll your eyes up and in,

Visualizing the ground ahead of you.

Allow your lips to softly close and breathe gently and quietly and slowly in and out of your nose.

There's no wrong way to do this.

And with every inhale,

Allow yourself to notice the increase in your heart rate.

And with every exhale,

Allow yourself to notice the decrease in your heart rate.

Allow the weight of your body to release further down towards the ground.

And with your opposing inhale allow yourself to notice the lifting energy that lengthens your spine from the top of your head.

Exhale,

Release your shoulders,

Your hips,

And your legs towards the ground.

Exhale,

Feel lightness and a gentle upward lifting.

And as you continue to inhale and exhale allow yourself to rest in that space.

Find the balance between your two breaths,

The grounding exhale,

The uplifting inhale,

And the existence in between.

Now take your attention towards your exhale breath.

Let each exhale breath take a little more time than each breath in.

Allow yourself to lengthen,

Meter out the breath so it's evenly exhaled while you're extending the length gently and comfortably.

You don't have to try too hard.

Just energetically direct yourself to do so.

Trust and lean into the trust of yourself and your being as you are being guided.

And now notice all of the points of your body which are touching down and connecting to the ground and below the ground,

The earth,

The soles of your feet or your ankles or your shins or your seat bones,

The back sides of your thighs.

And with every exhaled breath further yourself into the ground by releasing all of your energy down into the earth.

Imagine that each of these connection points expands and opens,

Widens with every exhale like water as it's poured onto the floor slowly begins to spread and seep.

And if at any time you feel as though you're melting down a little too much,

Just remember that the lightness of the inhale breath is soon to follow.

And I want you to rest in this energetic space,

Aware of this play and this connection between the substance of your body,

The flow of your energy and the receptivity of Mother Earth.

Now of course your mind may still be active and thoughts are going to come and go.

Let them.

Any time that you notice your mind has wandered,

Chasing off to a thought,

It's okay.

You don't have to know why.

You don't have to know what.

And you don't have to be the judge and the jury whether or not this meditation is good or bad or that you're doing it right or wrong.

Simply bring your mind and your focus and your awareness back to your body.

Check back in with your sense of the weight of your body,

The energy that's flowing through your body,

The form of the body,

The substance of your body.

And now even allow yourself to be curious about all of the senses that radiate from your body.

Are they heavy?

Are they light?

Is there a stillness or is there motion?

Is it solid or liquid?

Be with your body right here,

Right now with the body seated on your chair or your cushion.

Be in touch with the ground.

Allow yourself to feel with every breath roots growing in to the earth and a life of its own tying into the crystal and grid in the center of the middle of the middle of our existence.

Relatively still,

Physically stable.

You are rooted.

You are grounded.

You are neutral.

From this place of substance and stability,

Continue to notice when your mind wanders and as many times as you need to,

Bring yourself back to your body and call back your energy.

Allow this to be the practice of calling back your own power and allow it to be in a centralized hub that is your body.

Come back to the anchor of your body,

The form,

The shape,

Stable and connected and rooted in the earth.

Allow yourself to be aware that your body is the hub for your mind and even though your mind may wander,

Your body still is rooted.

Whenever you notice your mind has gone and entered,

Simultaneously allow yourself to reach down deeper and more rooted into the earth.

As you are fully aware of your physical body,

Your energy body and your connectedness to the ground and rootedness into mother earth,

I also want you to see yourself completely filled with light.

Allow yourself to let the inhale receive light from your crown and your exhale to surround yourself with light.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Breathe in,

Inhale light.

Breathe out,

Release.

Breathe in,

Feel light.

Breathe out,

Relax and release into the ground.

Breathe in,

Lift the top of your head to the sky,

Open,

Breathe out.

Breathe in,

Open your eyes,

Breathe out.

Stay here for a few more breaths with your eyes open,

Very much aware of your body and the support of the ground underneath you.

You are grounded.

You are safe.

You are protected.

And as you rise up from the ground or your chair to stand or move on from your spot,

Realize that every movement forward,

You're pressing down into the very stable,

Powerful,

Intelligent,

Strong earth.

Thank you for joining me today in this meditation,

Sending you much love.

Peace.
