Life can sometimes be filled with both times of joy and times of sorrow. Sometimes places inside ourselves that are wounded can feel stuck. I offer this guided meditation as a way to bring a new light into our life and our bodies to hold space for these wounded places.

Take a deep breath in and exhale slowly.

And once again,

Softly closing your eyes on the exhale,

Imagine your feet and your body connecting to the earth below you.

And imagine the top of your head connecting to the sky above you.

Now go inside yourself and find a place within you where there is a hurt or wound or scar,

Whether it is from this current moment or from something long ago in the past.

Now imagine finding that place and beginning to gently cup it in your hands as if it were a real object.

Once you have it in your hands,

Imagine the circle of people meditating with you in this moment and place that object in the middle of the circle.

It will be kept safe and cared for in this community space.

Now imagine that all these different objects that are in the center all resonate together,

These wounded,

Gray,

Injured pieces of us.

It may seem dissonant,

Discordant,

Chaotic at first.

Allow it just to be this way.

Now imagine that a bright,

Iridescent,

Luminous light begins to form around each one of us,

Individually encircling us.

This light is a bright orange flame and color that looks like a beautiful sunrise.

As this orange color envelops and encircles you,

Slowly breathe this color of beginnings and sunrises into your body,

Breathing this beautiful orange light and feeling the joy that it carries of creation and of harmony.

And as this orange light fills your body,

You yourself begin to glow with the joy of this light.

Now imagine all the people meditating together in this community,

That each person's harmony,

Each person's orange light begins to join together and as it does,

It begins to surround and touch gently the wounded pieces of ourselves that are in the center of the circle.

Slowly,

And with each breath,

The harmony of light begins to play with the dissonance of the injured places.

It plays with it until the pieces of us that were discordant begin to harmonize with this beautiful healing orange light.

And now the joy and the sorrow begin to play a new song together,

Learning to create a new symphony,

A new song within us,

This community,

Our world,

Our creation.

And we,

All of us,

Become this new song together.

Take a deep breath in.

And exhale.

And as this practice closes today,

Know that this bright,

Iridescent sunrise light of new beginnings and new songs and transformation will be carried with you throughout your day.

And you can breathe in this light at any time,

In any moment,

Even when we are not together.

It is always there for you.

I am grateful that you have joined me today,

And may your day be blessed.

I hope.

Lovely. I feel lighter and hopeful. I could feel the release of my emotional pain, it was nurtured by others and the healing light. It’s mine so I felt it returned to me but it’s much less of a stress. It will heal inside of me.

A lovely meditation. Initially I was looking for a focus on physical healing but this was obviously what I was meant to do right now. It is a soothing meditation and an important reminder that we are both light and dark.
