From Shame Piñata,

I'm Colleen Thomas.

This is Daily Magic for Peace.

Today we will send gratitude for the helpers.

Welcome to The Circle.

Today all you need are your hands or whatever you use to help other people.

If you would like,

You can join me in taking a nice deep breath to transition into our time together.

As we start today,

I would like to invite you to listen to what is around you.

Listen to the noises in your ambient space.

How many things do you hear?

What is it like to be quiet and listen?

How is your mind responding to this slowing down?

How is your body responding?

And I hope that maybe now you're feeling a little more in tune with the space you're in and with your body.

And I'm wondering if you'd like to join me now in dropping a grounding cord.

Just very simply connecting to the earth beneath you,

Connecting down,

Down,

Down,

Down,

Down into the earth.

Hooking into that stability and that groundedness and that anchoring.

Knowing that it is fine for you to be here.

You are welcome here.

The earth needs you here and we need you here.

And in line with that theme of grounding,

Let's connect in now with the first chakra just for a couple of breaths.

The first chakra is at the base of the spine and it's that lower chakra that really helps us connect to the earth.

It's one of the first ones that awakens in our lifetime.

And it's all about being alive and having our basic needs met.

It's at the base of the spine.

Some people see it resonating in a red color.

But when you check in and you experience it,

It might be any color to you.

Trust what you see.

Trust what you feel.

And let's take a couple of breaths together into that first chakra at the base of the spine.

So breathing in.

Brightening that first chakra,

Enlivening it and breathing out.

Releasing anybody else's energy,

Anything you don't need.

And in again.

Brightening that first chakra and releasing.

And one more time,

Breathing in stability and groundedness and support and resources and breathing out any lack of abundance or fear or scarcity.

And staying with this idea of abundance and basic needs.

The magic we're going to work on together today is to send gratitude to the helpers.

This could be helpers in any aspect of life,

Helpers in your life,

But especially helpers working in the area of Ukraine and Russia right now.

People in Ukraine and people in countries bordering Ukraine and really people all throughout Europe and some people in the U.

S.

Who are also helping with this work.

The work of showing up for those affected by the violence and the displacement and the tragedy going on in Ukraine right now.

One of my heroes,

Mr.

Rogers,

Always says,

Look for the helpers.

I think he had a video of a fire,

A building on fire.

And that was scary that the building was on fire.

But what was amazing was that there were all these people helping,

Firefighters and other people helping the situation.

And it's the same here.

There are so many people trying to help Ukraine right now.

And I asked you to focus on your hands or whatever you use to help people today because these are tools that we have.

And the hand is such a symbol for offering help,

Right?

We're extending a hand.

I really want to honor the ways that people are showing up today.

And the magic I would like to invite you to join me in sending is just incredibly deep gratitude.

Just dropping into a place in our bodies of feeling grounded and feeling resourced.

And feeling that gratitude,

Tapping into that gratitude that,

Yes,

There is a crisis and people are helping.

They are putting themselves on the line in very serious ways.

And they are also showing up as much as they can that's safe for them.

They are donating money.

They are volunteering their time in places where they can do that.

I've heard numerous stories of people who just felt called to drive over to Ukraine from wherever they were and start driving people around and getting people out or getting people back in or whatever it was.

People are showing up in amazing ways.

So from this place of gratitude,

This deep place of grounding and gratitude,

I invite you to join me in sending love and support and appreciation for everybody around the world who is helping.

For all the hearts that are alive and the eyes that are open and the people who are leaning in.

And thank you for everything you are doing.

Thank you for being in this circle today,

In this moment,

Spending a few minutes of your day focused on the people of Ukraine and Russia and doing what you can and taking care of yourself at the same time.

May it be so.

Thank you so much for being with us today.

Your presence,

Your energy and your heart make all the difference in healing our world.

Remember to breathe today,

Breathe and expand.

And I hope you join us again next time.

And please consider inviting a friend.

That's it for Daily Magic for Peace.

Our music is by Terry Hughes.

I'm Colleen Thomas.

Thanks for listening.
