From Champignyada,
I'm Colleen Thomas.
This is daily magic for peace.
Today we will send strength to Ukraine.
Welcome to the circle.
So what I'd love for you to gather today,
If you have it near you,
Are some oak leaves.
I'll explain why in a moment.
In the meantime,
I invite you to settle in for our time together today and join me in taking a breath.
As you know,
When we come together to sit in circle,
It's not just you and me here.
It is everyone who listens to this episode at any time from any place.
So as we sit here in circle,
You doing whatever you're doing and me sitting here in front of the microphone,
Know that it's so much more than just us and it transcends space and time.
This is a circle on the inner that we are creating to gather,
To send peace to our hearts and to send peace to Ukraine.
To calm our nervous systems today,
I would like to invite you to join me in looking around and presencing yourself in your space.
I'm gonna ask you a few questions.
The first question is,
What do you see around you that has a square shape or a rectangle shape?
As you look around,
You might see a lot of things that are square or rectangle,
Especially if you're inside.
We tend to build this way.
If you're outside,
Maybe not so much.
But notice,
Where do you see them?
Let your eyes just wander.
And now how about round things,
Oval things,
Spherical things?
Let your eyes find those.
This is just a very simple way to come into the present moment.
And now that hopefully we're a little more in the present moment together,
Let's take it a little deeper and do some grounding.
So feeling into what you are sitting,
Standing or lying on and finding the earth beneath you.
Feeling down,
Down,
Down,
Down,
Down,
Down until you find the earth and your connection and let your awareness drop through the crust of the earth and down to the center of the earth.
Almost like you've got a lovely root system coming out of the bottom of you,
Right?
We talk about our grounding cord,
But what if it's a whole system?
What if we are grounded in so many ways,
More than we even know?
Maybe take another breath and come back into the space you're in.
And let's think about or hold those oak leaves.
I asked you to think about or to source oak leaves today because today's intention is to send strength to the people of Ukraine.
And when I think of strength,
I often think of a big tall tree,
Maybe a big oak tree.
In fact,
There is a big oak tree that is very well-known in Ukraine.
It's in the Cherkasska Oblast,
Which is in the middle of the country.
And it's called Dub Maksima Zalesnyaka.
It's a natural monument.
And the oak tree is something that has been revered in different parts of Ukrainian history.
So it's a wonderful metaphor for today's work.
And I would love to ask you to think back throughout your life about the relationships you have had with big trees.
Maybe when you were young and you first began to experience being around trees,
Climbing trees,
Playing near trees,
Were trees plentiful in your life or were they a special treat?
And as you grew up and you moved to different parts of the world and you got to live in different environments,
Did you maybe meet a tree or two who taught you something?
Did you ever have the opportunity to stand in front of a tree and lean back against it and feel its roots extending down and feel its branches extending up?
Not just seeing them,
But feeling them.
Did you ever get to lean against a tree like that that taught you,
Showed you how to reach up and down,
How to be a tree?
If you did have that experience,
I invite you to bring it to mind right now.
Let it return to your body.
Let your body remember what that tree showed you.
And if you've never had an experience like that,
I invite you to just imagine what would it be like to be taught how to tree?
Allow this tree that we're with right now to inform you,
To help you grow strong,
To teach you how to grow strong and true,
Anchored in your own truth,
Connected to the earth.
And let's call on that spirit of the oak tree informed by our own sense of learning and growing and connecting with that tree energy today.
And let's send that energy,
That strong,
Solid,
Knowing energy,
Let's send that together to Ukraine.
You are not alone.
You are strong.
Here is some oak medicine,
Sending that oak energy,
That oak strength,
The strength that we have just rediscovered in ourselves from connecting with the oak tree,
Sending it to our friends in Ukraine.
Sending it,
Sending it,
Sending it until it feels like it has been received,
Until it feels like it has landed in the earth in Ukraine that is so in need of love right now.
Let's let that oak energy land in Ukraine and send strength to everyone around.
May this strong oak energy travel across the miles and land with our Ukrainian friends so they feel it,
So they know we are sending them strength.
May it be so.
Thank you so much for being with us today.
Your presence,
Your energy,
And your heart make all the difference in healing our world.
Remember to breathe today,
Breathe and expand,
And I hope you join us again next time.
Please consider inviting a friend.
