Inviting you now to find yourself in that comfortable seat.
Maybe you're sitting cross-legged,
Maybe you choose to lie down.
But I want you to imagine your root chakra,
So the energy at the base of your spine,
Being rooted into the floor,
And your crown chakra,
The energy extending up and out of the top of your head,
Being anchored to the sky.
I'd like you to place your left hand over your heart center,
Also known as your heart chakra,
And your right hand just underneath your navel at your sacral chakra.
We're going to begin to connect to the breath.
In India and Hindu concepts,
This practice is called pranayama.
You may have heard this in yoga as well.
It is the connection to the breath.
Prana means breath of life,
Life force energy.
It is the connection,
The deeper connection to source,
The energy behind all that is,
That constant transformative energy that fuels you here on earth as a human being.
So I invite you now to close your eyes,
And begin breathing in through the nose for a count of four,
Three,
Two,
One,
Hold.
Exhale for a count of one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold.
Inhale for a count of five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One,
And hold.
Exhale for a count of one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
And hold.
Inhale for a count of six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One,
And hold.
Exhale for a count of one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
And hold.
I want you now to just return to your normal pattern of breathing.
Take a second to notice what's happening in your body.
Do you feel a little bit more settled,
A little bit more grounded in your energy?
I want you to take your hands now and place them palm to palm in front of your heart chakra,
And begin to vigorously rub your hands together,
Creating warmth and energy,
Friction,
Understanding that you are the energy of the universe,
And that energy is you.
Continuing to rub those hands together,
Creating lots of energy and friction.
And with one more deep breath in,
Releasing those hands,
Palms up,
Either right next to you where you lie or on top of your thighs.
See if you notice any buzzing or tingling permeating through your fingers,
Through the palms of your hands,
Maybe it's warmth.
Understand and know that this is energy,
You are energy.
As we close,
We'll take one final deep breath in together,
Exhaling audibly with a sigh,
And inviting you to spend as much time as you'd like connecting with this energy.
And I'll see you back here tomorrow.
