Soul's Siren - Answering Your Heart's Calling
Have you felt a certain calling throughout your life? A quiet voice that tugs at your heart, beckoning you towards a completely different life? I call this our Soul's Siren - a consciousness connected to the love & service of our world - and that leads us to the most fulfilled version of our own life. On this journey into yourself, we will listen to that unique calling and answer it with an intention to make that voice a sacred - and honor its guidance. (5-minute talk / 10-minute meditation / 5-minute talk)

Music Welcome,
Dear one,
To the Seekless Podcast.
Today we will seek less purpose and meaning from the external world and learn how to follow our own heart's call through an introspective meditation.
Music Do you hear it?
Across heart's plane,
Through lungs' valley,
Pooling into the top of belly?
A song,
Unknown to all but you.
You recognize it,
Somehow.
You've heard it your whole life.
Laced whispers,
Woven through the eaves and beams of creaking forest.
It speaks of moons yearning to return to its own darkness and trickling streams,
Thirst to be part of ocean.
In all the ways it knows how,
Your soul's siren calls for your return.
And a return it must be,
And a journey it must take.
For no homecoming is ever recognized until one has ventured too far from their own home.
Do you remember that time you got lost as a child,
Stepped off the stony path to follow the flutter of violet wings,
And you fell long and deep into the tall silver ferns?
That moment when your fear turned into inexplicable freedom,
A world of adventure in the undergrowth,
Unseen from the road.
A taste for wild unknowingness coursed across your skin like lightning.
That was the call.
Those are the moments your soul's calling and you caressed.
And now,
Where is that call?
Where is that freedom?
Where do you now seek for lightning skin and moon-struck awe?
And in what ways does your calling seek for you?
Too often,
You think,
What do I want to do with my life?
But few are the times you stop to consider.
What does my life want to do with me?
And when you feel life speaks back in only pain and disappointment,
You find refuge in the fantasy of answering your siren's call,
Of following those violet wings off into the sea of ferns.
You melt in words into the unknowing of where it would take you if only you answered,
If only you were brave enough,
If only you knew enough to just take that chance.
While heart loves you into being,
So does mind fear you into doing.
And doing is what you have done and what you will keep doing until you stop,
Breathe,
Listen,
And be with what your life is asking of you.
Heart does not speak in words.
It does not even whisper.
It gently pulses guidance through your being.
It does not force its knowingness upon you.
For if it were to be brutal with you in any way,
It would only betray its own purpose.
Love seeps in through senses,
Through feeling,
Through inspiration,
Through wonderment and awe,
Softly humming soul song throughout your body.
As many times as you have drowned this call in should-do's,
In perfectionism,
In maybe-laders and possibly-afters,
It has popped up once again,
A cork in high tide lapping towards you in times of stillness.
Who am I to be?
What am I to do?
Where am I to go?
And what do I need to remember?
Only fools follow ghosts,
Dreams,
And the unknown.
Only the brave stay put,
Living day after day,
In the satisfaction of knowing it all.
Perhaps we have it all wrong.
Perhaps this life was made for nothing but the unknowing,
So that we may follow all that unfurls and flutters across our path.
And so our first lesson is the greatest unlearning of them all,
The deconstruction of fear,
Fear of never fulfilling our dream,
And even the fear of following it.
Fear bedevils us but in stillness,
We cannot fear anything because we become everything.
Let us come now into a space where we might meet the wordless voice of our soul's siren,
And listen to its familiar melody,
Answering it from within with an intention.
Ease into yourself now.
Get into a comfortable position,
Allowing your body to guide you gently into the space of remembrance,
And close your eyes.
Allow your muscles to melt a little,
Softening around a strong spine,
Your chest soft and receiving,
Your heart tender and open.
Feel the skin around your mouth,
Your eyes and your forehead lift a little,
Releasing the weight of worry from them.
Unfold your shoulders back a little,
Your chin lifted slightly.
Take a deep breath as you return to yourself,
This awareness of who you are replacing untruths and well-worn stories of who you are not.
Let your mind be.
It knows what you are doing,
And that it cannot distract you when you acknowledge its presence.
In denying the mind we create conflict,
So let it be,
And turn your most valuable attention towards the breath.
Try and send the breath into all the aches and pains of your physical body,
The tight and tense parts.
Gently soothe them with your exhales.
Feel your breath gently washing over you,
Folding you into its tide,
Lightly unearthing the essential you from within.
The following questions are to be answered by the intuitive body.
You do this by centering your attention toward the heart,
Chest,
And belly area.
Let your body in any way it can answer the questions for you.
It may come as hearts flicker,
A few single words appearing in the mind,
Deep core emotions surfacing or an overall embodied sensation.
Intuitive responses are always kind,
Always subtle,
Always empowering and expansive.
Try to linger in the answer your body gives,
Focusing on the feeling within you for as long as it allows.
You have had a certain pull within you your whole life toward something.
Try and locate this feeling now by remembering a time you felt it.
Feel this yearning within you.
Connect to it by listening deeply to your own life.
What is this calling pulling you towards or away from?
Does it lead you somewhere that feels expansive,
Either emotionally,
Physically or spiritually?
Does your call support or help others?
What are your fears towards following this call?
If you hold any fears or doubts toward your calling,
Let them rise too.
It's okay to meet them,
They hold no power.
They are merely mind's ghosts searching for their own reflection.
Acknowledge these fears and then let them go with love.
Follow your soul's siren now,
Guided by heart,
Off the beaten track and into the unknown.
Feel yourself fulfilling this call to its greatest outcome and imagine yourself having truly harmonized your being with your unique life's song.
We will take a minute to breathe consciously into these emotions that fill us up with the life we were born not into,
But for.
Your call will always lead you back to you,
To who you are and the unique gifts you have to help others with.
These gifts already line your pockets.
They are being called into action by heart,
Sung by the chords of soul and await your physical being to align with this truth.
Before we end this meditation,
Allow the following words to be transmitted into your own being as a closing intention to our practice.
Your soul's siren.
I know you are here.
You have always been a part of me,
Pulling at my hems,
Waiting patiently for my return.
I hear you.
I'm sorry for dismissing you,
For not honoring your quiet voice.
All those times I tried to drown you in logic,
Reason and fear.
I'm sorry for my deafness when all you wanted was my attention in silence.
I am here now.
I am listening with my whole body.
Together we will sing this hymn of remembrance and never again will I turn away from you.
Like child's cry for mother's warmth,
I'm here to discover your needs by tending to the fires that burn within me.
Take one last,
Consecrating breath,
And when you are ready,
You can open your eyes.
What keeps us all together is the desire to help one another through love.
What makes us different is our own unique calling,
Our own violet-winged creature who beckons us from the unknown.
What calls you doesn't have to be specific,
Detailed,
Planned out.
It can simply be a feeling,
A yearning,
A consistent pull.
Commit to its discovery and you will live a life fully filled out into every stitch and seam of your being.
And when you don't know what to do next,
Just take one step in the right direction by doing more of what you love,
By tending to your passions and unique gifts.
If life is anything,
It is to follow the trail of senses that lead you to ultimate self-discovery,
And it can only ever lead you back to you.
What you desire,
What you were made for,
Is already known by you.
It has been calling you through your talents and passions,
And through your love for others.
Let these show you the way.
You may believe that you have a dream,
But that dream has you.
Let yourself be silently drawn by the stronger pull of what you really love and what pulls you away from the stony path and into the wild unknown.
Thank you for being a part of this journey.
It is as much mine as it is yours,
And know that your reflection in these meditations can only be seen because you already know yourself.
We are all just remembering what has been briefly forgotten.
