There are moments you feel truly interwoven into life's tapestry.
And then there are those moments when you feel the fray,
That small thread beneath the surface of you that unravels a little with every pull.
And rather than become the weary tailor endlessly patching up and cutting out pieces of your past,
You can lose the yarn within you altogether.
You do this by allowing the dialogue between your pain and your heart to open,
By letting your emotional body speak to you in a space held in compassion and kindness.
When you feel that unravel within,
When you are caught in overwhelm,
Doubt and fear,
Come into the following practice that uses the acronym HEAL to honor,
Inquire,
Allow,
And love yourself back into alignment.
We are going to invite a difficult situation you are going through right now to sit with us and go through each of the four letters,
Tenderly disentangling ourselves from the deeper emotional hooks within us.
Sit comfortably and settle into yourself now through the breath.
Allow this breath to connect you to your emotional body by asking yourself how you feel right now.
Where is there a thread caught within you?
Where is there a latching and a tightness?
Where is there openness and freedom?
Spend a few moments just breathing into all of these places,
Giving the gift of your presence to each area.
Bring to the surface now what feels to be holding you back,
Pulling you away from ease,
From joy,
From living in lightness.
Which emotion is dominating your life's experience right now?
Is it fear,
Doubt,
Hurt,
Impatience,
Or hopelessness?
It's okay to feel this emotion rise within you.
Invite it in to your heart and to your home.
Let it come out into the light.
Let it be with you.
Let it be felt within you now in all its knots and ties.
We begin the heel practice with the first letter H,
Which stands for honor.
Repeat these words to yourself now.
I honor this emotion within me.
I honor it by not looking away.
I honor it by giving it my attention.
I honor it by holding it lightly within me.
I honor it by locating it within me now.
Place your hand upon the area that you feel this tightness,
This longing,
This grasping within your body.
For many the throat,
Belly,
And chest area is where they feel difficult emotions,
But anywhere you feel your emotions in your body is okay.
Honor how your body speaks to you.
Breathe into your hand now.
Breathe into this emotional pain that simmers restlessly below your palm.
You have honored your pain and we now move onto the second letter,
Which stands for inquire.
Repeat these words to yourself now.
I inquire as to the truth and origin of this emotion,
With a curious mind and an open heart.
Spend a moment digging deeper into the origin of this emotion,
Not the external triggers that caused it,
But the very roots of it within you.
Is this emotion truthful to your situation?
Is it defensive of an insecurity you may feel about yourself?
Does it validate some belief you have towards yourself?
When was the first hook of this emotional pain placed within you?
There is usually a singular deep thorn in you that is felt from a thousand different movements.
Reach that origin and you will remove the very source of your suffering.
Your heart is always there as your elder,
Connecting you to the wisdom of love.
Have courage to be with what feels most uncomfortable.
Take a moment now to dig a little deeper within yourself and locate the origin of this pain.
Breathe now into the often uncomfortable origin of your emotion.
Breathe into the complex feelings of detanglement.
You have now honored and inquired into your pain.
We move on now to the third letter,
Which stands for allow.
Repeat these words to yourself now.
I allow this emotion and its myriad of reasons for being to be with me here now.
I allow it to sit with me.
I allow it to stay for a moment,
To be held in loving hands.
Breathe into the soft allowing nature of your own body,
The natural caring part of you that holds love for all that is unknowing and innocent.
Breathe into your emotion without judgement,
Without the need to control it,
Without the need to change it.
You have now honored,
Inquired and allowed this situation to be here with you.
The final letter represents love,
As do all conclusions of healing.
The heart is our central point of restoration,
The refuge and repairer of all discontent and disconnect.
Repeat these words to yourself now.
I choose to love myself through this,
By offering myself a word of self-kindness.
Take a moment to listen to that quiet voice within you,
The one that is gentle and tender towards your human life,
That speaks to you of your wholeness and your divinity.
Allow that voice to offer you words of encouragement,
Support or simply a warm wrap of silence.
Let it speak to you gently in relation to this difficult situation you feel.
To some it may be a whisper of,
All is as it should be.
To others it may be more like,
I love you,
I am proud of you,
Keep finding your light.
Settle into your breath and heart now and find that soft,
Patient voice within and let it speak to you.
After your heal practice,
Take a moment to really feel the heal,
To settle into the state of threadbare being,
Holding yourself lightly in forgiveness,
In acceptance and in love.
However deep the wound,
However unmet the need,
You can learn to rewrite your body's emotional story.
It takes creating space between what catches you and how you choose to respond to that moment from a place of awareness and connected to a higher state of being.
You can use this heal acronym practice as a meditative reflection to the end of your day or in a moment that begins to unravel you.
You can spend your time going through each step or simply offer yourself a minute to repeat the acronym in a moment of discontent.
I hope this serves you today in some way.
It is in these times that we are all feeling the fray,
But have heart.
These times were not sent to try us,
But to change the way we relate to ourselves and each other.
Honor,
Inquire,
Allow and love is not just a practice for these times,
But one for the steps taken towards true healing and the levels ascended through awakening.
So try and implement them into a daily practice and see what kind of difference it makes to your emotional,
Mental and spiritual well-being.
Thank you for being here today.
I read and respond to all comments and reviews.
So thank you to those who spend a moment here now to share and respond.
