Hello my beloveds,
Today's meditation is an illustration of the love of God as exemplified by a mouse in my garden.
To begin,
I invite you to close your eyes and notice that with the simplest of acts,
By simply closing your eyes,
Your mind organically becomes quieter.
This is to say,
Be still.
Adopt an attitude of gratitude and non-judgment and embrace a heart and mindset of peace and loving kindness as you focus on the sound of my voice and the words I am saying.
So,
I was working in my garden,
Clearing my raspberry bushes of dead canes and weeds.
In the process,
I accidentally and inadvertently disturbed and uncovered the home of a family of mice.
The mama mouse hurriedly grabbed a baby mouse and ran across the garden to find a new shelter for her baby.
At this point,
I did not realize there were more babies in the house,
So I continued working,
Smiling to myself about what a good mama that mouse was being.
And then,
One after another,
The mama mouse began to come back for her other babies,
Heading right into the face of potential danger to save her babes.
I ought to mention that I was no danger or threat to her or her babies,
And she didn't know that.
Still,
Her love for her babies was greater than her regard for her own safety.
It really caused me to reflect on the love of God and how that mama mouse was such a beautiful example of that love.
The love of God is like that of a mama mouse,
Rushing into danger to save her babies.
God is like a mother,
Running toward peril to save her babies.
The love of God is a mama mouse,
Rushing into danger to save her babies.
The love of God is a mama mouse,
Rushing into danger to save her babies.
Thank you for joining me in this sacred space of stillness,
My beloveds.
As you return to the rhythms of your day,
May the peace of God go with you,
And may the light of divine love guide your every step.
May grace and peace,
Light and love,
Be with you.
