Hello my friends.
Welcome to our Bible Meditations for Mental Health Series.
Today's meditation is on worry.
To begin,
I invite you to be still,
Which simply means to find a comfortable position in a space relatively free of distraction,
Where you can quiet your mind.
Close your eyes if you feel safe and comfortable to do so.
Adopt an attitude of gratitude and non-judgment.
For today's meditation specifically,
It's particularly important to observe a posture of non-judgment toward oneself.
And embrace a heart and mindset.
Peace.
And lovingkindness.
Worry loops our thoughts into endless what-ifs.
It focuses the mind on imagined outcomes and steals the gift of today.
Worry makes us lean on our own understanding.
Even when God invites us into trust.
Let's take a look at a few scripture passages that can help us in times of worry.
Trust in Adonai.
With all your heart.
And lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways submit to God,
And God will make your path straight.
Proverbs chapter 3 verses 5 and 6 Who of you,
By worrying,
Can add a single hour to your life?
Since you cannot do this very little thing,
Why worry about the rest?
Since you cannot do this very little thing.
Why worry about the rest?
Luke Chapter 12 verses 25 and 26 you will keep in perfect peace.
Those whose minds are steadfast.
Because they trust in you.
Isaiah chapter 26 verse 3 Worry offers no benefit.
Not even one extra hour of life.
But trust.
Brings peace.
As we lean into God's wisdom rather than our own anxious reasoning,
God straightens our paths and steadies our minds.
Peace grows where trust takes root.
I don't know.
When worry pulls at my thoughts.
Guide me back to trust.
Guide me back to trust.
Make my mind steadfast in you.
Lead me into your perfect peace today.
Amen.
Thank you for sharing this space with me today,
My dear friends.
I look forward to guiding you again soon.
And until then.
.
.
May Grace and Peace.
Light and love.
Be with you.
