Hey friends.
Welcome to our Bible Meditations for Mental Health series.
Today's meditation is on overwhelm.
To begin,
I invite you to close your eyes.
Relax your body.
And quiet your mind.
Be still.
Adopt an attitude of gratitude and non-judgment,
Especially toward yourself.
And embrace a spirit of peace and loving-kindness.
Overwhelm arises.
When life feels like too much.
Too many responsibilities.
Too many emotions.
Too many demands all at once.
It can feel like drowning slowly.
Under invisible weight.
Unsure how to come up for air.
Let's take a moment to meditate on some scripture passages that can help us with overwhelm.
When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you.
And when you pass through the rivers,
They will not sweep over you.
Isaiah 43 verse 2 from the ends of the earth I call to you.
When my heart is overwhelmed,
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Psalm 61,
Verse 2.
My grace is sufficient for you.
For my power is made perfect in weakness.
My grace is sufficient for you.
For my power has made perfect in weakness.
2 Corinthians 12 verse 9 God does not promise the absence of deep waters.
But God does promise presence in the midst of them.
When overwhelm closes in,
God is the rock that rises above swirling tides.
Grace meets us exactly where our strength ends.
Filling the gaps,
Steadying the heart.
Lifting us up above the waters.
Adonai.
When I feel overwhelmed.
Lift me higher than the floodwaters.
Steady my spirit with your presence.
And fill my weakness with your grace.
Remind me.
I'm not alone in the deep.
Thank you for sharing this tender,
Sacred space with me,
My friends.
I look forward to guiding you again soon.
And until then.
Me grace and peace.
Light and love.
Be with you.
