Hello my friends,
And welcome to the Bible Meditations for Mental Health series.
And today's meditation is on fear.
To begin this meditation,
I invite you to close your eyes.
Notice that with the simple act of closing your eyes,
Your mind naturally gets quieter,
Your body becomes more relaxed,
Your spirit becomes more still.
Let's enter this space together with the spirit of stillness,
An attitude of gratitude and non-judgment,
And a heart and mindset of peace and loving-kindness.
Fear is a powerful force that rises when we feel unsafe,
Uncertain,
Or overwhelmed.
It can tighten the chest,
Cloud the mind.
And drown out peace.
Fear often convinces us we are alone or unprotected even though God is near.
Let's take a moment to contemplate some scripture passages on fear.
Do not fear.
For I am with you.
Do not be dismayed,
For I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41 verse 10 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
For you are with me.
Your rod,
And your staff.
They comfort me.
Psalm 23 verse 4 For God did not give us the spirit of fear.
But of power,
Love,
And self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1 verse 7 These passages remind us.
That fear does not originate from God.
God's spirit brings courage.
Clarity,
And steady love.
Even in the darkest valley,
God walks with us,
Holding us steady.
Fear may rise,
But it has no final authority.
God is the one who strengthens,
Helps,
And comforts us.
Let's spend just a moment in prayer for fear.
I don't know.
When fear breaks in.
Steady my heart with your presence.
Surround me with your peace and courage.
Remind me that I am never alone.
And I don't have to fear.
You are always with me.
Thank you for meditating with me today,
My friends.
I look forward to guiding you again soon.
And until then,
May grace and peace,
Light and love be with you.
