Hello and welcome to this mantra recitation for the student teacher prayer.
This practice assumes that you've heard this before,
That we've been together before in some capacity here on Insight Timer.
And so this is strictly a recitation practice so that you can learn this mantra.
So just have a comfortable seat.
Sit up nice and tall.
Bring an open mind into this practice.
Have some fun as we move through.
We're going to do some call and response.
We'll go through line by line.
And more eventually.
Go through the entire mantra.
And I'm just going to recite the mantra one time in its entirety,
So we kind of know where we're headed.
And then we'll go into a line-by-line recitation.
Om Sahanao Vavatu.
Saha naobunaktu.
Sahaveeryam karavavahai.
Tejas Sri Nauvadhi Tamastu.
Mahavidhvisha Vahai Few notes.
In Sanskrit,
The letter V is sort of a V and a W combined.
So you'll hear a little bit of.
.
.
Wah,
Wah Wah,
It's like a VW.
And then the letter R is a rolled R,
Similar to Spanish.
So ra and vah.
R R R R R Just play with that,
Explore that.
Let that evolve over time.
So let's do call and response,
Line by line.
Word by word to start.
Om.
Saha nao bhavatu.
Saha Nao Vavatu Sa-ha-na-o-wa-wa-tu.

Relax your breath,
Relax your body,
Just find some stillness.
Awareness inward.
Let's take a moment here,
Be with yourself.
If he wanted to,
You could bring your hands to prayer and gently bow the head.
Just honoring this moment.
You can rub your palms.
Generate some heat.
Warmth into the palms.
Go ahead and cover your eyes.
Allow the warmth to nourish your eyes.
Open the eyes into the palms and relax the hands.
Thank you for joining.
Good luck on your practice.
Keep coming back.
I look forward to connecting with you very soon.
