Welcome to this short mindfulness activity,
Based around random acts of kindness.
So we'll begin in the usual way,
Sitting comfortably,
Gently allowing your eyes to close.
We're going to visualise our own kindness.
So I'd like you to picture yourself somewhere familiar.
It may be a bustling street,
A cosy cabin.
Try to picture the details vividly,
The colours of the sky,
And now you notice nearby,
Someone who could use a lift,
A stranger looking tired,
A colleague seeming stressed.
You approach them with a warm smile.
You offer a specific act with them,
Or simply hold the door wide with genuine kindness.
Watch as their face transforms,
Shoulders relax,
Feel the spark of joy ignite in you.
Breathe into this sensation.
Now expand the scene.
See your kindness as a pebble drop.
Visualise the recipient of your kindness,
Carol.
Imagine this light weaving through your community,
Through your city,
Even reaching distant places like a soft shimmering aurora.
And then sense your place in this tapestry,
Powerful.
Recall a moment when kindness touched your life in detail.
Feel the surprise melting into warmth,
Like sunlight breaking through the clouds all day.
See the giver's face,
Hear the words,
Sense the invisible gift wrapping around you.
Place your hand over your heart now.
Allow waves of appreciation to ripple through your body,
Dissolving any lingering self-doubt or isolation.
Affirm silently to yourself,
I am worthy of morrow.
Envisage three specific random acts,
One for someone close,
A heartfelt compliment maybe,
And one for yourself,
A moment of self-love.
See each act unfold in colourful,
The textures,
The sounds,
The smiles.
Feel the anticipation building,
Like finally rest in the essence of kindness.
Imagine yourself enveloped in a vast,
Infallible light,
Where every being glows with compassion.
There's no effort needed,
It's pure,
It's effortless connection.
Linger here,
Breathing naturally.
When you're ready,
Consciously deepen your breath once more.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Carry this visualised light into your actions today,
And let your kindness flow.
